Just watched the new Amityville Horror on TV.  Eh...nothing special but not bad.  Not really scary though.  Oh yeah, that reminds me I saw Paranormal Activity a while ago which was the first movie in a while to make me nervous after watching it.  I had to go to the bathroom after it and was totally paranoid.  But the ending was totally predictable.

Shrek 4 isn't bombing. It was actually pretty damn good.

Yeah it is.  It's pulling in nowhere near what it was expected to and the high cost of 3D is killing its per-theater profits, which are half that of Alice in Wonderland.

Thankfully it looks as though this is starting the death of the artificially created 3D craze.

Saw Toy Story 3 AND Knight and Day today.  Toy Story 3 was awesome of course and Knight and Day was fun in its own way.  Not award winning by any means, but it served its purpose as a ridiculous summer adventure.  I can't wait for Inception.  Definitely plan on seeing that in an altered state of mind.

I watched the first half of City of God last night and can't wait to see the rest of it today.  It's been pretty cool so far.

Just watched part of Religulous and I can totally see why so many people hate it.  It's completely true.

The criticisms seem made up.  Why does it need to be subtle?  What's wrong with his message at the end?  It's no secret throughout the film he thinks religion is absurd in general and his ultimate point was made clear at the end.  I can't stand Michael Moore movies because of the bullshit masquerading as being objective.  Maher was clear that the point was to show the idiocy of religion from the beginning and doesn't try to trap anyone, he just calls them out straight up.

That last Harry Potter was pointless and boring.  I tried, I really did...and it was lame as shit.

I'm trying to watch a crazy trippy movie tonight, any suggestions?  I'm thinking Eraserhead or The Holy Mountain at this point, but I like newer movies better generally.

I went with Holy Mountain.  Weirdest shit ever...

WOW, not at all.  Totally lame and transparent.  Waste of time.

And for what it's worth, Charlestown didn't seem anything but pleasant when I was there.

Yeah, the whole Boston sub-genre feels forced and exaggerated.  That alone annoyed me, on top of the ridiculous accents they put on.  Oh, and the entire state of Massachusetts saw 23 bank robberies last year.  So much for there having been 300 in Charlestown.

That stat was obviously bogus, something I realized since the trailer, but Ben Affleck no doubt knows more about Boston and Charlestown than anyone on the forum.

Sure he does, but it's easy to find out enough to know the image he keeps trying to push of all these "uber-cool" badass Boston things is bull.

Machete

A ridiculous and fun B-movie (as advertised).

I still haven't seen it, thanks for reminding me!
