Agreed. We could use more knowledgeable scientists in politics. Also Quakers. Rush's both.

Oh, it's gonna rain pretty badly tomorrow as well in most of North Jersey, increasing the odds of a low-turnout race.

It's been raining this morning in South Jersey as well, with more expected throughout the day.

There are a lot of uncontested primaries in the state leg.

Apathy for state politics in general + Apathy for all politics in New Jersey = Uncontested races everywhere.

This article detailing the sheer f**ckery of Christie's beach visit today is a perfect encapsulation of how he both has no ethical fortitude and really doesn't give a crap anymore.

I want to have the election and get Christie out of office like right now. Well, actually in two days, because then I'll be 18 and I can vote in it.

It's sad. Christie decimated the NJ GOP, and this election is not being talked about as it should be. It's New Jersey!

I had no idea there was a debate. Did anything interesting happen?

Ouch, Murphy is winning big in Cloucester County.
Gloucester is a rather Democratic county. What's so surprising?

WTF NJ? Are you usually this slow when counting votes?
Well, we figure that since we talk so damn fast, we should slow down at least once in a while.

It narrowly voted for Trump last year

Yeah, and it's the first time that it went Republican in a presidential election since the '80s. It's by no means a bellwether.

Yeah, and it's the first time that it went Republican in a presidential election since the '80s. It's by no means a bellwether.

There aren't really any great bellwether counties in New Jersey, but Bergen, Burlington and Gloucester are the probably the closest you'll find.

Maybe, although I've never thought about it. Having lived most of my life in Gloucester County, I've been perusing its recent election results. It seems like an occasional drift into R territory is either a sign of a landslide (Christie 2013), the appeal of a specific candidate (somewhat Trump 2016), or the odd vote-splitting (Christie 2009/Trump 2016). It's not very elastic otherwise.
