Nestor Royce and Ser Donnel Waynwood, who so far have remained loyal to you.

I'd be willing to try out playing a new character. I could take Royce.

Welcome to the game, Gusfaf! Lord Royce is yours, I will edit the turn to include your challenges and you're welcome to ask any questions of you have doubts.

I believe Lumine said POVs should come sometime today, so presumably any minute.

Wednesday, the POV update comes on Wednesday so I can end the turn on Thrusday and then leave for my trip, xD

So why was the submission deadline today? Tongue

Because last time I left it too open Randyll Tarly was saved and then sentenced to death like six times, hence my hesitation, xD (but I will recieve orders tomorrow as well, they might or not be a part of the POV's)

So far the plan is this:

-Daenerys
-Vale POV (Still not chosen yet)
-North POV (Could be Jorah, could be Roose, could be Bran)

Wait, what? Lumine do I get a chance to make any moves and stuff? I'm writing you a PM right now, you see it'd be great to have just a day or so to get into this. Smiley

We'll get a POV update today, but you have until tomorrow eveningish to make your moves, IIRC (sorry for any confusion if I am mistaken Tongue ).

Indeed, and since you started later I don't mind you taking some extra time as well, xD, but so far the POV update should be Daenerys, Lothor Brune, Roose Bolton and Bran Stark. Thanks to the moves there might be something else, but that depends on some issues...

POV Update:

ROOSE:

It was a cold and pale morning, a typical feast of ice and snow in the middle of the North. He, the Leech Lord, rested on his tent with the leeches all over his body, and he may have very well felt some joy at sensing the creatures suck the blood and the passions away from him. But there was so little left of them lately and so many things to play with that Roose just didn't felt like feeling joy that day. No, that day it would be anger, that would enhance the experience. He liked not being expressive enough -at least when compared to the Greatjon-, but this time there were no Starks to bow to and Galbert Glover spent his nights on a dungeon. He had his army and the bastard on his palm, and he knew that Mormont and his sellswords could be dealt with rather easily. The Bear may believe himself to be the commander, but Roose was the one who was always heard in the war councils, and Tristan Rivers had quickly put himself out of the road to avoid any further trouble. Rivers and the bastard could be used, Locke was away in Moat Cailin with the reinforcements and perhaps Mormont would prove an interesting prey as well if he kept that mask of arrogance on. Either way, Roose could not pretend to have some enjoyment thanks to the leeches for any further, as one of his men entered the tent.

"Lord Bolton? The Bear wishes to see you near his own tent, he says he has a prisoner."
"I'll go."

After having the servant remove the leeches and putting his armor, sword and gloves, Bolton went out of the tent and pretended not to notice the scared faces of many of the soldiers. He always wondered how they could be such imbeciles not to realize he knew what they were thinking and that they were staring at him, but truth be told he had never found a man like himself. Domeric didn't count, he was dead, killed by the bastard. As long as that idiot was his sole heir, he would have to ignore Domeric and settle with what he had. Mormont was waiting for him along with Rivers and the bastard, and a wounded man was on the ground, looking as if he had been beaten by half the army.

"A spy?"
"Yes, Lord Bolton." It was a smiling Rivers who spoke. "Me and the lads found him slipping into a tent, and he got lucky that I was there. Some of the lads haven't slept with a woman in weeks."
"He refuses to say a word." Mormont was very serious about the whole affair. "And I'm running out of methods to see from where he comes."
"A naked man has few secrets, a flayed man none."
"I'm not flaying him, Lord Bolton. The Lords of the North have branded me a slaver and a traitor and refused my offers, I will not have it say I was a tortured."

Just as Jorah Mormont gave his back to the spy to give the bastard a command, Roose knew he was doomed and lost. He also spoke out, but something inside him told him not to. It was then when the prisoner showed that he had cut the role on his hands with a knife, and before the Golden Company could react, Mormont was already vomiting blood from the wound on his neck. Rivers and his men took the spy and prepared for the kill, but Roose would not allow them to waste the unique chance, and he stopped them by raising his voice. While Rivers ran for a doctor, Roose knelt at the side of the Bear and watched him with curiosity, almost disappointed at having lost his chance to play with the only rival he had in the army. The moment passed quickly, though, and Lord Bolton rose to find himself as the commander of the army besieging Winterfell just as Rivers returned and Ser Jorah Mormont died.

"Rivers, you take orders from me from now on, is that understood?"
"Aye, Lord Bolton, me and the lads are at your service."
"Good. See that the camp remains in order and explain the situation to your fellow captains, I don't want confusion. Guards, take Mormont to his tent and prepare to bury him."
"Aye, Lord Bolton." Rivers and the guards took the body and left while the news spread all over the place.
"Ramsay. I want you to flay the man, I need an extra coat for the Dreadfort."
"Yes, father."
"You will also take the scouts and have them hanged, they let him in."
"Will you go for Winterfell now?"
"I don't take risks, Ramsay, and you know it. They can rot inside all they want."
"If you don't take risks how come you be surrounded by enemies?" Roose struck him.
"Speak again and you will regret the day I raped your mother, Ramsay Snow. Only fools would follow Robb Stark to the death in the South. Now go."

As Ramsay left Roose felt a small and short lived surge of satisfaction. While he regretted not having Mormont around to play with him before getting rid of the man, he had a whole army fearing him and House Stark would soon burn to the ground. He had the Manderlys captured, the Mormonts and the Hornwoods were in ruins and only the Glovers, Karstarks and the Mountain Clans could oppose him. And nobody would dare oppose Roose Bolton once he had won. He knew he was going to win, and he was going to win the game by playing with them in the most appropriate possible way. His blades came from the mind, and they were sharper than a flaying knife.

BRAN:

Was he a Prince or a King? He did not know, and he didn't want to know. The ravens said Robb was dead in the South, and then all hell had broken loose as Ramsay Bolton had besieged Winterfell and shot down Maester Luwin's ravens, forcing them to use some brave men to cross the lines to send and bring messages. They had lost a few of them, but those who survived had reported to Maester Luwin, Ser Rodrik and him that Robb might be actually alive and that some Lords might come to the rescue. The news had encouraged the garrison and Rickon as well, but Bran couldn't help but to think that the worst thing had indeed happened, that Robb was as dead as his father, that he was the... King in the North. A cripple King who would have trouble moving out of Winterfell, a cripple that would never be loved or respected, a cripple who would never pass the sentence and swing the sword as his father had done.

"I'm sure King Robb is alive, my Prince." Ser Rodrik tried to assure him.
"How can we know for sure?"
"We can only pray to the gods and hope." Lady Hornwood was almost captured by Bolton, but she had taken refuge inside Winterfell.

It was curious to Bran to see Ser Rodrik and Lady Hornwood spending a good amount of time together. On one hand, he could relate to Lady Hornwood since he had lost his own father and she had lost her husband and son, but he knew she had to have some resentment over the loss. And yet, Ser Rodrik had taken a liking to him and viceversa, so it was weird to think about them. Meera and Jojen had assured him it was normal and that Lady Hornwood could still marry, but they had told such strange stories to him that he didn't want to believe most of what they said. Tales of Harrenhal, of a mystery knight, of four young wolves and a dragon, tales of a tower of knights and ladies, tales of a bed of roses, tales of the crow of his dreams and the crannogmen, and too many other stories to remember. Bran just didn't know what to think anymore, and knowing death to be near with Lord Bolton was not helping him to think.

"Prince Bran!" Maester Luwin ran into the room along with Osha.
"What is it?"
"One of our spies managed to get through!"
"That's great to hear, we haven't been able to get some news since Mormont was killed." Ser Rodrik Stated.
"They flayed the men, I would be scared to try and get here as well." Lady Hornwood said, somewhat bitter.
"The news are rather surprising to me, and I don't know what to make of them but hope that the gods are not punishing us any further. Lannister sellswords landed at White Harbor and took the place without even bothering to torch it, and it seems they are opposing Lord Bolton."

Everybody went absolutely silent, and once again, Bran didn't know what to think anymore. Lions, Wolves, Bears and Flayed Men made a stranger story than anything Jojen Reed had told him before.

LOTHOR:

Ser Lothor Brune was really confused as to what to do now. As a knight and a soldier he had been a pretty normal man, strong but not impressive or worthy of fame, mostly having to fight his way with his good luck. He almost joined the Baratheon Brothers after the Battle of the Blackwater, but Lord Baelish had required his services and he figured King's Landing would be filled with them more talented than him, so he had gone to the Vale and he had helped Baelish with some tasks regarding informants and other... unsavory tasks. Baelish seem to think highly of him as a bodyguard, and Brune had done his best to help Lord Baelish while staying away from Lady Lysa and her temper. For that same reason his good luck should have prevented him from watching that scene, but he had happened to be looking for Lord Baelish to tell him that Lord Royce and his army were approaching. A battle would probably ensue, and Ser Lothor was not convinced the outcome would be positive. Thus, he was walking through a corridor when he heard Lady Lysa talk, and he chose to look through the window to see her and Lord Baelish talking near the edge of the walls.

"Petyr, you know I wish to marry you... Those pesky Vale Lords won't let me, but we'll find a way, I promise."
"I believe you, dear, don't worry. Soon we will put this mess behind us."
"Oh, Petyr, you're always so comprehensive... I wish our son had lived."
"I wish so too, my Lady, but you have the Lord of the Vale with you know."
"Yes, such a beautiful boy he is." Lady Lysa took a pause. "Petyr, have you started to work in what I asked of you?"
"Of course, my Lady, I have already contacted one Lord."
"And? What did he said?"
"He approved, he practically asked the same before I had the time to give him my proposal. It was quite a surprise to see him so willing to go through with it."
"One Lord less to worry about then... So tell me Petyr, who was he?"
"Your nephew."

Ser Lothor almost fell from the shock as Littlefinger pushed Lysa over the wall and then watched her fall to a nasty death on the mountains that surrounded the castle. Littlefinger looked over the wall, laughed a bit and then disappeared. Ser Lothor took his time to calm down and then he decided to think things through before doing anything rash. Baelish was his employer and he owed him loyalty, but at the same time he had just pushed the Lady of the Vale to her death. And Lysa Arryn, unpredictable as she was, was still a Lady. Ser Lothor waited for some time until he finally resolved to seek Ser Donnel and Lord Nestor, but he found them taking with Littlefinger and he forced himself not to say anything dangerous.

"How... unfortunate." Lord Nestor said. "To think Lady Lysa would suffer such a horrible death."
"People have fell before, but she should have been more careful." Ser Donnel said.
"My Lords, please don't be so casual... This is truly a terrible thing, I wonder how young Robert will take it." Littlefinger seemed almost honestly concerned about the child.
"Will you tell him, Lord Baelish?"
"I will indeed, if that's required of me."
"It is." Lord Nestor Royce said, knowing he was in charge know. "My brother should be close now, and I want to see if we are all on the same side here."
"I am at the orders of Lord Yohn." Ser Donnel stated.
"And so I am." Littlefinger smiled.
"Very well. Let's end this farce and get it over with. We have to prepare Lady Lysa for burial as well."

And they left. Ser Lothor could have stepped in that precise moment and ruined the arrangements Littlefinger had done, but now he knew better than that. It didn't matter if Lord Royce and Ser Donnel knew what really had happened to Lysa, it was what they wanted and her cause of death wouldn't matter. Lord Yohn Royce would be the new Lord Regent of the Vale, and yet another Tully had dropped dead. Thinking the game of lords to be much too dangerous for him to handle, Ser Lothor got as drunk as he could to forget and then he went to bed.

DAENERYS:

It was a clear day near the Kingswood, and Daenerys Stormborn could not help but to admire the beauty of the sea. If only she had a fleet to make it her own... But Groleo was dead and the Pentoshi galleys sunk, and she was reduced to go by land to King's Landing. At the beginning it may have looked like the obvious move to just march in there and put and end to the war, but she knew better than test the armies of her opponents before they were completely weakened. For that reason she had ordered Ser Barristan to camp and build a palisade, preparing herself for an attack. She liked having Ser Barristan and Quentyn around to help and serve her, but without the rest of her advisers it was hard for her to get enough different perspectives beyond the captains of the Golden Company. Ser Jorah was in the North, Groleo and Lord Blacktyde dead, Prince Oberyn was in Storm's End and so forth. And she would have to face Crow's Eye Euron almost by herself. Admittedly she didn't like the Ironborn Prince because of what she had heard about him and his killing of Baelor Blacktyde, but he had requested a meeting as the price for doing a small service to her cause, and she thought it wise not to refuse him.

"Your Grace, the Ironborn ships have arrived and Prince Euron comes in a boat along with his guards."
"Good, I will go to meet them on the beach. Any suspicious move from the sailors?"
"No, your Grace, we know the ships since they belonged to Lord Blacktyde, and they don't seem to be ready for battle."
"Good. Let's go."

As Dany, Ser Barristan, Quentyn and their heavily armed escort reached the tent that would serve for the parley, Dany didn't felt good about her decision. It was said that Euron Greyjoy was insane and very manipulative, and she feared he might attempt something at the meeting. She could not believe he would kill her since he had nothing to gain, but that man was probably up to something. The Golden Company and the Dothraki bloodriders entered with two Ironborn sailors and Prince Euron, and Dany looked at him with great curiosity. Euron was very handsome and very pale, hiding one of his eyes behind an eyepatch and having a smile that looked incredibly dangerous.

"This is Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, Queen of the..." One of the servants introduced her.
"And I am Euron Greyjoy, the Crow's Eye, Captain of the Silence." Euron made a rather short introduction with a very monotonous voice, and it seemed the meeting could start.

Thus Dany started talking to Euron about her relationship with the Greyjoys and the Ironborn while avoiding the mention of Lord Blacktyde, and she noticed something was definitely not right. Euron was still smiling, but there was something in his eyes... They seemed almost lifeless. It was then when one of the Ironborn guards made a careful movement with his right hand and Dany knew she was in danger.

"Careful!" Ser Barristan stepped in to protect the Queen and the bloodriders reacted as well, attacking the sailors, who had a couple of strange spiders coming out of their armors.
"They must be poisoned!" Ser Barristan killed both men while some of the guards jumped or captured Euron, who did not move nor say a word. Then both soldiers vanished, and Dany knew.
"The Qarth warlocks. After all this time, they have come for their revenge."

And then she heard the horn. It started very quiet and then it jumped into the most powerful noise she had ever heard, it sounded like the screaming of a thousand souls and it made her bones chill. It was then when she could sense the fire inside her, as if the horn was making her bones to be aflame while her flesh melted. Ser Barristan, Quentyn and the rest fell to the ground in pain as Daenerys tried to stand despite the pain in her body, and then the dragons started to scream as well. Still feeling as if she was burning thanks to the neverending and terrible sound of the horn, she stepped outside of the tent to see Viserion, Drogon and Rhaegal flying high in the sky, desperate to reach the Ironborn ships with a motive that Dany could simply not understand. It was then that a heavy fog covered the ships, and by the time the dragons reached the fleet only a single ship was left. It was all an illusion, and the dragons were dancing in circles near the sole Ironborn ship, that was quick to leave the place. Pale and still feeling in pain despite not being wounded, Dany entered the tent to see Euron Greyjoy, and what she found was the rotting corpse of Baelor Blacktyde sitting on the table, a smile on his face.

She fell to her knees. Euron and the warlocks of Qarth had struck in the most horrible way she could think of, and they had stolen her dragons.

I'll be honest, I was not satisfied with this update and went through several drafts, so forgive me if this one is somewhat of a let down. I also wish to apologize to Dereich, a plot to kill Lysa Arryn worked and just like with Mace Tyrell she had to die. Also, from next turn on we will have a new character playable, although said turn will come after my travel.

I probably should not have based my move on my assumption (for which there is strong contextual evidence in the books) that Euron's horn doesn't do what he thinks it does...

Well, without spoiling too much for some people, I had that problem considering Martin always plays with our expectations while using foreshadowing at the same time, so I was undecided between having the horn blowing up a certain important place or giving control over the dragons. Since Winds of Winter is not available to give us the answer I chose to go with this outcome.

Well damn, I guess this is the end of the line for me. So much for my dream of ruling both the Vale and the Riverlands.

So who will Lyn Corbray be following now?

He will have a small crisis of confidence, to say the least, xD

You were really great as Lysa Arryn, and I would hope you would pick another character for the turns to come as well.

Oh... Well, Ser Donnel and Lord Nestor have given you access to you and your troops, which means you are in the position to take full control of the Vale. That said, Lord Baelish and his men have the custody of Lord Robert and he has made his arrangements to remain alive. In short, he can't destroy you for the time being and knows you are in the best position to become the Lord Regent, but he has some tricks up his sleeve in case someone tries to get rid of him.

Military Update:

The Battle of the Kingswood:

It looked like Daenerys Targaryen had won the war after the Tyrells crushed Robb Stark's forces at Tumbleton, but the Queen underestimated the power of fear. With the Northerners up in arms after Bolton and Mormont's invasion and with the Stormlanders and Westerlanders unwilling to face certain death at the hands of the vengeful Queen (as this was the perception they had of them), the most unlikely alliance was born out of mere desperation. King Renly and Tywin Lannister struck a deal to avoid getting each other killed at the Walls of Kings Landing and Tyrion Lannister returned to the Council. Combining their armies and with the Baratheons leaving a sizable part of their army to guard the capital along with Lord Loras Tyrell, Tywin and Renly rode South to confront the Dragon Queen and try to put an end to the Targaryen invasion. Riders brought messages from the Baratheon/Lannister camp to the Stark one, and King Robb was able to convince his vassals to strike at Daenerys now that the North was threatened. Daenerys called forth ther forces and prepared a defense in the Kingswood, but she lacked her dragons and the Tyrell/Arryn army was in Tumbleton licking the wounds of the past battle. Tywin Lannister started the battle along with Ser Addam Marbrand and Ser Kevan Lannister by launching a carefully calculated assault against Daenerys's camp, with Barristan Selmy leading a strong defense that found itself hard pressed against the flanking attack of King Renly, his Kingsguards and the remaining Stormlander Knights, which forced the Targaryens to fall back at being clearly outnumbered. Knowing of the attack, Lord Willas and Ser Lyn Corbray marched their armies to meet Daenerys, but constant mutinies forced Ser Lyn's troops to march slow and force the Tyrells to be more cautious than before. It was then than Robb Stark's forces were able to outflank the Targaryen Army by using Greywind to navigate through the forest, shattering the Pentoshi soldiers while forcing the Dornishmen and the Golden Company to defend as best as they could. In the end, it was too much for them to handle, and the Targaryen Army desintegrated while Barristan Selmy and Harry Strickland died covering the retreat of the Queen, who managed to escape along with the captains of the Golden Company and some of the Dornish Lords back to Bronzegate. While Lord Tywin was ready to press on, the Tyrell and Arryn army managed to arrive at the moment, forcing a second battle the next day. At the beginning the rested Tyrell troops were having good results, putting a lot of pressure into Lord Tywin's remaining sellswords, but the honor of the Vale struck again. Tired of the constant backstabbing and hating Ser Lyn for following Lysa's command, the brothers Triston and Eustace Hunter and Wallace Waynwood joined forces with the sons of the Lords of the Vale and murdered Ser Lyn, flanking the Tyrells, killing Lord Hightower and forcing Willas to escape back to the Reach as well. The new alliance was too exhausted to follow on the attack, but the Arryn, Lannister, Baratheon, Tully and Stark army looked at itself just like if the Rebelion was back. They had virtually humilliated Daenerys Targaryen, and Robb managed to liberate Lady Mormont and Lord Edmure along with all captured prisioners of war.

The Battle of Castle Black and the Wall:

After suffering crippling losses in the Fist of the First Men and losing Lord Commander Mormont, the Night's Watch was almost destroyed as a fighting force, with Maester Aemon begging the Lords of Westeros for their support. Despite some positive words, the only real help came from the Starks, with Mors Umber leading 2,000 men into battle to defend Castle Black along with Ser Alliser Thorne and Janos Slynt. Knowing full well that a single victory would be enough to give him the wall, King Mance sent a small force to attack Castle Black from behind while his forces struck at the main fortress. The battle started almost in the middle of the night, and through an entire day the Starks and the Night's Watch fought against the wildlings and managed to destroy and capture the force set to assault Castle Black while taking heavy losses of their own and losing Ser Aliser Thorne to an arrow in the neck. Mance used the next two days to strike at several points in the Wall and send forces to climb it and attack the fortress from behind again, and the death of Mors Umber put Janos Slynt in command of the Wall. Slynt's leadership proved to be a total failure as he couldn't keep up the morale of his remaining men, and Mance Rayder gathered enough strenght to push through the Wall. By the time the battle was over, Jon Snow led less than 500 survivors to the lands of the Umbers while Mance Rayder feasted in Castle Black and celebrated his capture of the wall as the new King in the Wall. The Night's Watch was finished, Alliser Thorne, Janos Slynt, Maester Aemon Targaryen and most of the crows were dead.

The Reach Campaign:

After the smashing defeat at Highgarden and the setback in Crakehall things were just going downhill for the Tyrells, as the Tarly soldiers at Horn Hill and the Florents declared for Renly, raising their men to defend their lands. Having such a grim situation Lord Willas commanded Lady Olenna and Lady Margaery to return and start the rebuilding of the city, but the Lord of Reach lost friends each day following accusations of being paranoid after te murder of Randyll Tarly. Ser Garlan was commanded to strike at the Florents, but his departure South meant that Daven Lannister just marched straight to Old Oak to confront Garlan. He could have withdrawn, but Asha Greyjoy and an Ironborn army landed on the back of the Tyrells and forced to do battle while being outnumbered by their foes. Ser Garlan knew a defeat would cripple the Reach even further after their critical losses in past battles, so he fought a long battle and he arranged an escape of a good portion of his army at the cost of losing Old Oak and hundreds of men, with Ser Daven Lannister capturing Lady Oakheart and proving that the Lannisters had come to pay their debts to the Tyrells. Ser Garlan withdrew to Highgarden to protect the city, and he recieved surprising news from the sea. Lord Victarion was supposed to lead his fleet to strike at Oldtown, but Euron Greyjoy and his small fleet had struck at him and burned him alive, putting Euron in command of the Iron Fleet. King Balon was killed shortly after that in a strange accident after falling from a cliff in Pyke, and Prince Euron arrived to the Iron Islands mounting the dragon Rhaegal while his fleet rushed to get there quickly. With Victarion dead and Asha away, Euron forced Lord Harlaw to stand down as Lord Regent and dismissed Aeron's attempts to hold a Kingsmoot, thus crowning himself King Euron of the Iron Islands.

The Targaryen Invasion of the North and the Stormlands:

The death of Lord Mormont was only the beginning of problems for Bolton and the Targaryen cause, as Lord Howland Reed sent a proclaim by Robb to the entire North after recieved word of his survival, branding the Boltons and their supporters as traitors and calling the North to rise. "The North Remembers", was the war scream, and the few remaning men of the North rose to fight for King Robb (especially the Mountain Clans) despite winter being virtually there. Orders from the South undermined Bolton's position after Ser Stafford Lannister's 7,800 sellswords took over White Harbor, and Tristan Rivers and the Golden Company left the siege to fight the Lannisters and drive them back into the sea (as they didn't consider the Wall to be of real importance in the war). Despite Ser Stafford being a subpar commander, the Golden Company failed to be successful against the snow and the superior numbers, and they were beated and forced to march on the Dreadfort to protect it while Ser Stafford consolidated his position in the North. In the South, Oberyn Martell had pushed Cortnay Penrose into using most of his food, and we was directed to build double fortifications to protect himself while attempting to use a tunnel to get through. The tunnel ended up collapsing, and Prince Oberyn decided to flung pestilent animal corpses and human wastes into the fortress to produce sickness. With his men weakened by starvation and the Martell fleet blocking the seas in Storms End, Ser Cortnay reports that they will perish if they don't recieve help as soon as possible.

The Rise of Lord Royce:

With the unexpected and sad passing of Lady Lysa in a terrible accident at her castle, Lord Royce arrived to see Lord Baelish, Lord Nestor Royce and Ser Donnel Waynwood with the gates open and Lord Robert ready to be delivered, which meant that Royce got the control he wanted and the Lords of the Vale recognized him as the Lord Regent of the Vale until Robert came of age, provided that the Lords Declarant were allowed some extra rights and such. Lord Baelish was torn between going to the Riverlands or remaining there but he was quick to offer his services just like everybody who used to serve Lady Lysa. Symond Templeton and the banners that were called united in the Bloody Gate under Lord Royce, forming a 9,000 strong army ready to march and other manpower reserves left to use if needed. And now the Arryn Army in the South answers to Royce as well, so the last remaining Targaryen loyalists in the South are the Redforts, Corbrays and the Graftons in Gulltown, all too weak to oppose Royce.

Thus ends this turn. I will take a long trip for at least a week, so I'll be out of the forum (or I won't be here for a long time) and this game is currently put on hold until I return and I include the new characters, so remember not to send me any moves until this is restarted, xD

I am back, but so far in no condition to start the game until Monday night. Therefore, I leave the next two days open for players to claim Lord Petyr Baelish and King Euron Greyjoy. King in the Wall Mance Rayder is hereby given to Dereich and Roose Bolton is still reserved for Mr. X should anything happen. Since the turn won't start until Monday, I will not acknowledge further plotting until that date, so please remember that.

It'd be kinda weird to play as Euron after he killed me, so I'll be Baelish.

Welcome, Lord Baelish! I will explain you the special gameplay that affects you and Varys on Monday.

Great to see the game continue soon. I hope you have had a nice holiday, Lumine?

Just a small question by the way: The latest Dany POV did not explicitly state Quentyn's fate, just something that he was affected by the Qarthian spiders. Is he still alive or did he die?

I did, it was very invigorating! King Quentyn is still alive, the magic horn did cause most of the presents to become temporarily weak, but he remains at the side of Daenerys after the retreat and he is currently in good health.

Great!
Great also for my son Tongue But his King his actual title? I thought it'd be something like Prince Consort or whatever... But you decide it, Father in Heaven Tongue
[/quote]

I was rather unsure of what title to give, given that the only Queen in Westeros was Rhaenyra Targaryen and her husband Daemon chose "Protector of the Realm" and stayed with Prince, and Argella Durrandon married after losing her crown to Aegon the Conqueror. I think I will start to use Prince Consort from now on, though, it fits better than King.

300 AL (1), or "A Time for Wolves"Sad

General View:

In another display of the ever changing context of Westeros, Daenerys Targaryen has been utterly humilliated after the loss of her three Dragons at the hands of Euron Greyjoy and the crushing defeat of her army thanks to the unlikely coalition of Tywin Lannister, Robb Stark and Renly Baratheon to get rid of the Targaryens. All regions are now weakened and burning with the exception of the Iron Islands and Dorne, with Highgarden in ruins, the North facing a three-way war between Mance Rayder, Robb Stark and Roose Bolton and most of the armies of the realm extremely depleted. As none of the potential alliances have the potential to be stable with so many deaths and betrayals, there's no end in sight to the slaughter and winter has finally come all the way to the Crownlands, covering Westeros in a shroud of snow... and blood.

Quotes:

"Westeros will kneel. Harren the Black was a great King who held the Iron Islands and the Riverlands while he built Harrenhal, but his might does not compare to what the Ironborn are going to do now. We will rise from our islands and take our fleet and my dragons, and we will pay the Iron price to earn what is ours. Dorne, the Reach, the Stormlands, the Westerlands, the Crownlands, the Vale, the Riverlands and the North. We will take all of Westeros!"
(King Euron Greyjoy of the Iron Islands)

Info:

Tywin Lannister:
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 2.000.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10 (Still undisputed Lord of the Westerlands)

-The Westerlands has enjoyed from about six months without an invasion now, giving time to repair defenses and train the troops, meaning that the resources left to House Lannister are still decent enough. The problem is that the bulk of your troops are now mercenaries, so even with a complete victory it should be remembered that the Westerlands will need several years to recover. On the other hand, Highgarden seems to be open to an attack that could crush the remaining might of the Reach, so there's a gamble that might shift the balance even more.

Renly Baratheon:
-Prestige: 7/10
-Gold: 600.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 6/10

-King's Landing was saved and the city is grateful to you, and the recent victory in the Kingswood has brought a surge of support for the Baratheon cause, with the Lords of the Stormlands currently besieged pledging loyalty once again. Despite your military weakness, House Florent and the remnants of House Tarly have declared for you, so if you can recreate an alliance behind the Iron Throne you could very well win the war if you play your cards right. Ser Courtnay Penrose also sends a message from Storm's End, as they have almost run out of food and they need immediate relief if they want to avoid the fall of the castle.

Robb Stark:
-Prestige: 4/10
-Gold: 400.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 7/10

-On one hand, Edmure and Lady Mormont are back, most of the Northern lords have rallied behind you and your army is finally safe from complete destruction, but the North is in complete chaos with Mance Rayder's invasion and the continued fight between the Stark loyalists and Roose Bolton. The Smalljon has pledged to bring you Bolton's head, but many of your generals want you to return to the North and crush your enemies before you lose Winterfell and your brothers. Returning North via land might take months, but there's an entire fleet waiting in King's Landing to bring you back into the North if you manage to strike a deal with King Renly.

Willas Tyrell:
-Prestige: 2/10
-Gold: 1.700.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10 (Unchallenged)

-It seems House Tyrell has hit the lowest point in decades, with most of your armies beaten and many of your vassals up in arms after a percieved tyranny on your behalf. Garlan holds Highgarden but he lacks strength, the Florents and the Tarly remnants are opposing you and Euron Greyjoy is still a grave danger if he choses to return to finish the job. What will you do to avoid the fall of House Tyrell and the Reach?

Doran Martell:
-Prestige: 6/10
-Gold: 400.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 10/10 (Unchallenged)

-Despite most Houses bleeding to death over the past months, House Martell of Dorne has avoided taking strong losses and they have become the key of success for the Targaryen cause. Princess Arianne and the Sand Snakes have focused on the war allowing you to enjoy some rest, but it's becoming evident that death might come sooner than later because of your sickness. You should start to consider potential matches for Arianne and Trystane as well, and Prince Consort Quentyn might need some extra protection after the last military disaster.

Daenerys Targaryen:
-Prestige: 4/10
-Gold: 100.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 5/10

-Despite an excellent start and several early victories, the tide is turning against House Targaryen with the disasters in the Reach and the loss of Ser Barristan, your dragons and most of your army in a crushing military defeat. Your allies in Pentos are disturbed by the news and enraged at the loss of their troops, and now more than ever you depend on Prince Doran and the armies of Dorne to save your cause.

Yohn Royce:
-Prestige: 9/10
-Gold: 500.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 9/10

-Congratulations, Lord Regent Royce, you are now the master of the Vale. Despite heavy losses, the region is still a force to be reckoned with, as you still have a fleet, an amry with you and one near King's Landing and a fleet to use if needed be. Many wonder if you will swear loyalty to Robb Stark or Renly Baratheon, but unlike many of the other remaining Lords in the realm, you still have the strength and the prestige to lead the Vale into a decent victory.

Mance Rayder:
-Prestige: 6
-Gold: 0 GD
-Legitimacy: 10

-The King in the Wall. After crushing the Night's Watch in the Battle of Castle Black you and your army of refugees have taken the wall and now have the North open to attack. You have about 20,000 soldiers and about 80,000 civilians to move, but don't trust the numbers that much, Westerosi soldiers are of higher quality. Some of your men wish to man the wall and prepare for a potential attack from the Others, and some wish to strike at the Lords of the North despite the heavy winter. There are many possibilities open, your Grace, what are your commands for the freefolk?

Petyr Baelish:
-Prestige: 5
-Gold: 1.500.000 GD
-Legitimacy: 4

-Welcome back to the Game of Thrones, Lord Baelish. While Yohn Royce is the man with the power in the Vale, you have several advantages and several chances to gain power in these complicated times. Harrenhal has been promised to you and perhaps it's time to ask for that reward, you have massive gold reserves after your time as Master of Coin, and you have several other assets that will be kept a secret from the rest from now on. Make us proud, Lord Baelish!

Varys:
-Prestige: ¿?
-Gold: 150.000 GD
-Legitimacy: ¿?

-I could say a lot about Lord Varys, but in this turn I couldn't possibly say anything. Expect an update on songs very soon, my Lord!

I hope someone will take Euron soon, because otherwise I will play as him and the plans I have will drive a few players mad, xD

Have fun! You have until Thursday night before I post the POV update!

In Sunspear, the gout does not enable him to travel long distances.

Despite an excellent stark and several early victories, the tide is turning against House Targaryen

I don't mean to nitpick over a single typo in a long post, but I laughed at this one.

Well, that's a fascinating mistake on my behalf, xD

POV Update:

KEVAN:

They had won. Kevan could not believe it himself, but they had defeated the dragons and Ser Barristan Selmy himself had fallen in the battle. The Battles of the Kingswood would enter history as one of the most unlikely battles of Westeros (every major House save for the Greyjoys sent troops to the battle), but they had opened the road for further Lannister survival. Jaime and Cersei were dead, but the Lannisters would live to fight another day thanks to his brother. Kevan often wondered about the extent of the loss that Tywin had suffered, losing both his sons, but of course the proud Lion never said a word about what had ensued in King’s Landing. Tywin was the same ruthless man he was when he defeated the Reynes and the Tarbecks and when he had mercilessly sacked the capital, and Kevan knew that if given the chance he would make Renly Baratheon and Robb Stark pay the price of the losses in blood. Many officers were talking about whom would Lord Tywin back, and the truth was that nobody knew. He was up to something, that was certain, but it was hard to predict what House Lannister (or what was left of it) would do now. The Westerlands were in ruins and half the army was made of sellswords without any concrete loyalty, which meant that as soon as Tywin died there would be chaos in the camp.

As the days passed, the men rested and buried the many dead while the wolf and his men left the area to go to the North, to finally strike against the foes that threatened their homes. Kevan wondered if Robb Stark felt an urge to attack them and have his final revenge, but it seemed the boy was just like his father. Eventually Lord Tywin called for a war council to make his decision (or rather, to inform the Lords of his decision), and Ser Kevan joined Ser Addam to walk to the enormous tent that was set to include the Lannister council (as King Renly and the Waynwood brothers were not invited). They were late, but as they entered the tent they noticed that one man was also missing. Clegane, Swift, Lorch and the sellswords were there, but the seat reserved for Lord Tywin was empty and none of them dared to ask where the Lord of the Westerlands was.

“It seems we’re not the only ones who are late.” Ser Addam casually remarked.
“Seems that way, Ser Addam.” Harys Swift was not in a good mood. “I find it hard to imagine Lord Tywin would not show up at the war council.”
“He doesn’t really need a council, all we have to do is kill the dragon bitch.” Amory Lorch was drunk, and Kevan wondered why Tywin still had him at his service.
“Easier said than done, she escaped.” The Tattered Prince replied. “Shouldn’t we send someone to see if Lord Tywin is fine?”
“We can go ourselves, Ser Addam. I have a feeling my brother would not like us to send servants for that.”
“Of course, Ser Kevan.”

Kevan and Marbrand walked swiftly through the camp to reach Tywin’s tent in the middle of the area, and when they arrived they found that there were no guards at all. Ser Addam dismissed it as if Lord Tywin had taken them for a walk, but Ser Kevan had a terrible feeling about it, just like when he saw the gates of King’s Landing open for Tywin to do as he pleased back in the rebellion. Something awful was going to happen, he knew it, and he could recognize the uneasiness. He called for a couple of soldiers to come and the group entered the tent to check on their liege, and Ser Kevan, unlike Ser Addam and the guards, had a remarkable lack of reaction at the image he saw. Tywin Lannister was dead on his chair, stabbed countless times and covered in blood. As Ser Kevan approached the body and Ser Addam raced for help, he noticed the wounds were small and there was blood everywhere. His brother had bled to death, no one to witness the final moments of the proud Lion of the Westerlands. And then came the final insult, for there were words written in blood in Lord Tywin’s golden armor: THE NORTH REMEMBERS. Ser Kevan Lannister felt nervous laughter escaping his mouth, and he knelt before the corpse.

ASHA:

(This chapter is smaller than what I had envisioned because there are some spoilers I don’t wish to reveal)

Asha Greyjoy was getting tired of the sight of the execution of an assassin. Ever since Euron Greyjoy had crowned himself and Victarion and her father had died, the Lords of Westeros had panicked and tried to murder him in all possible ways. Dozens of assassins tried to claim the life of the Iron King, but every single time they were discovered by those pesky warlocks and then used as food for Urron, Harwyn and Harren, Euron’s dragons. How he had gotten them to obey him was a mystery, but Asha and Rodrik were convinced that the horn he always held close to him was the key to controlling the dragons, who grew larger every day. They were still small, but Harren, the largest, allowed Euron to ride it for limited time. The dragons were so impressive for the Ironborn that it really didn’t matter how large they were, they simply taught the lesson that Euron Greyjoy could not be opposed. Or at least many of them thought so, because it was evident the King was despised by others, like her uncle Aeron and herself. Euron was a dangerous man, and she didn’t trust him one bit. He had killed Lord Blacktyde and Victarion, and probably her father as well to win the crown, and he didn’t look like the kind of man who would give up that crown easily. Either way, he had convinced the Ironborn that it was time to strike as well, and the fleet was ready to leave for the target.

“Do you really think he will be successful?” Qarl the Maid asked.
“With dragons it would be hard to see him failing, don’t you think?” Tristifer Botley was in a rather good mood. “When we arrive, they are going to surrender as soon as they see them.”
“And then he will burn them all.” Asha stated, remembering the fate of Victarion.
“I wonder if this time we will lose as much men as we lost in Highgarden. For being so effeminate, those Tyrell dogs knew how to put a decent fight.”
“Well, they are not growing strong anymore, don’t you think?” Tristifer started to eat something. “I’ve heard that Willas, you know, the cripple, has gone paranoid and he kills Lords just for disobeying him.”
“Nonsense, Tristifer.” She replied. “No Lord is foolish enough to do that,”
“And what about the Mad King, eh?”
“Kings are not the same as Lords, you idiot.”
“You really despise Euron.”
“He burned my uncle to death among other things, what do you think?”
“Mayhaps we should stop talking, one of those eunuchs is watching us.”

Tristifer, Qarl and Asha made silence while one of the warlocks observed carefully. Euron had captured a lot of them during his journey, and he used them and their magic to do things that many Ironborn had considered impossible. Aeron said he was a heretic for not following the drowned god, but more than one of the Ironborn Lords was interested in the new powers that the King had. They finally arrived to the Black Wind, and as Asha gave the commands to prepare the ship to sail from Pyke she wondered for one moment in Euron could really conquer large parts of Westeros. She had thought it impossible with the resources the Ironborn had and the losses in the Greyjoy rebellion, but with dragons and magic… well, it was better not to think about it. The Ironborn would sail to conquer the seas, and she would have to find a way to defeat Euron Greyjoy in his own game.

QUENTYN:

Mayhaps it’s not all lost, he thought. My uncle and his army will come, and the roses will return, and we will save the situation. When they had left the battlefield in the Kingswood, Quentyn could clearly see that something had changed inside his wife. She had lost her dragons and witnessed the death of her loyal servants, Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan, and she was forced to escape South, humiliated and defeated by those whom she called the Usurper’s dogs. She had spent the following days either in apathy or in deep anger, and in the end the Dornish Lords and their few remaining men had abandoned the camp to return to Prince Oberyn. They had tried to convince Quentyn to come, but he refused. He would do his duty, and he would not abandon his wife not even if meant his death. To run from danger would have meant that he was not a worthy son of House Martell, and so he bid his friends and countrymen goodbye. With the patience of the sellswords running out and the Pentoshi troops desperate to leave, the camp quickly faced the chance of disintegrating within hours, and the news had finally caused Daenerys to snap. Claiming that she needed to recover her dragons and the inheritance of the Targaryens, she had set course for Summerhall and she commanded the troops to wait there for her, promising to return with the dragons. Quentyn gathered some of the Stormlanders who lived near Summerhall to join the Queen, but he knew very well that many of those men would desert at the first chance. Nonetheless, he had to see what would happen and what plans she had to recover what she had lost.

The rode through the Stormlands through forgotten roads, trying not to meet with any of the hostile Lords and their small garrisons. Daenerys Targaryen’s invasion had not endeared the Stormlanders with her cause, and in that regard it was a relief that nobody recognized them. Without speaking a single word over the entire journey, Daenerys, Quentyn and the Stormlanders arrived on Summerhall on a dark and cold morning, and the Dornish Prince was left in awe of the ruins of what once was a Targaryen seat. Summerhall was a black ruin, and yet it still looked beautiful and light, a dignified ruin when compared to the monster that Harrenhal was. It was here that the Targaryen dynasty had suffered a crushing blow twice: once when Aegon V and his son burned to death inside the castle in the same day Prince Rhaegar was born and twice when Robert Baratheon had swung his war hammer to crush his rebel Stormlords with three battles in a single day. Summerhall was not cursed like Harrenhal, but it still felt scary for Quentyn, who wondered how Prince Rhaegar could travel here so often to sleep inside the ruins. Daenerys took her dothraki handmaidens and disappeared inside the castle, forcing the Prince to wait outside and talk to the Stormlanders, who were surprisingly courteous with him despite the enmity between the Dornishmen and the Stormlanders of the Dornish Marshes. Eventually Daenerys returned a satisfied look on her face.

“Your grace, it’s good to see you.” Quentyn said, rather clumsily. “Did you found anything?”
“Yes, my love, I did.” Daenerys have a good hard look to Summerhall and Quentyn saw her eyes were bright. “Summerhall still hides many secrets inside, and my handmaidens found just what I wanted, but I’ll need the help of the men.”
“Only them? And what would you have me do?”
“If you could search for a place to stay and go with the servants to find food, I would be grateful.”
It was, perhaps, insulting to a Prince of Dorne to send him to fetch food, but at that point Quentyn did not mind. He would do anything to see Daenerys acting in a normal way again. By the time he and the servants returned the men looked exhausted, as if they had worked the entire day. One of them, a Fell, informed him that the Queen summoned him in the main hall, and Quentyn moved among the ruins to get to said place. As he entered, he saw Daenerys sitting on the throne that had belonged to Aegon V, a torch on one hand and a dragon egg in another, and the entire room was surrounded in green flasks. The Queen was smiling.

“Did I ever tell you how I got my dragons, my love?”
“You did, it was on Khal Drogo’s… funeral pyre.” Quentyn was almost speechless.
“Indeed.” Daenerys took a brief pause. “Say, have you ever wondered by this castle burned a few years ago?”
“I have a few ideas why.”
“But Aegon V wasn’t a real dragon. Real dragons can’t be harmed by fire, like my brother Viserys was.”
“Daenerys, please! This is insane, the room is surrounded in wildfire!”
“I know, my love.” Daenerys smiled once again. “You really don’t get it, do you? Do not fear, my love. I am born out of fire, I was wed to fire, and I gave birth to fire. And I plan to do it again.”

Quentyn screamed when Daenerys threw the torch and ignited the wildfire, setting the entire hall in fire and forcing him to fall back. Desperate to help her and knowing he could not do it alone, he raced to get out of the hall and met with the Stormlanders outside, who looked at him with the same courtesy as before.

“You have to help her!”
“Help who, my Lord?” One of the Stormlanders approached him.
“The Queen! She set the main hall on fire!”
“Oh, that? We already knew about that.”

The Prince felt the cold touch of the blade entering his stomach, and as he fell to the ground he could see the whole castle enlightened by green fire, a painful sight for the dying man.
