I don't think this had much of an impact on the election, foreign policy and the economy were the main issues in '08. Going by that precedent is this proof that Hillary's email scandal otherwise didn't damage her (i.e. her citing of powell/rice), and it was mainly Bernie's attacks weakening her a la Nader to Gore?

Why would ordinary dems would normally care about this anymore than ordinary republicans cared about it back in 2007 or anymore than ordinary democrats cared about benghazi?

Last March was when her favorability ratings took a nosedive. Do you really think Bernie had anything to do with that?

Look at the chart for yourself, the unfavorables exploded with Bernie's campaign, otherwise, simply the email scandal alone split her numbers along partisan lines. Hillary consistently lead all the republicans in the general polls until ~Nov. 2015.

Yeah, before Bernie started his personal attacks against her, Democrats had a favorable view, Republicans had an unfavorable view, and independents were split. But then Sanders began validating right-wing smears to left-wing voters, and her favorables crashed.

Bingo, her '08 favorables confirm this:
