Quote
The terrorism threat level in Northern Ireland has been raised from substantial to severe, meaning an attack is highly likely.

The move, based on an MI5 intelligence assessment, follows a rise in dissident republican activity, including a recent gun attack on a top police officer.

It reverses a downgrade in Northern Ireland's terror threat level last March - its first change for 12 years.

Reminder that 2 Protestant Loyalists were arrested alongside the gunman in connection with the last "Dissident Republican" shooting which shows that either a) Tweedledee and Tweedledum "dissident loyalist/republican" are actually getting along well and mostly oppose the rule of law in Northern Ireland because it interferes in their drug and counterfeit business or b) it's a false flag operation, which is also entirely possible given in the old days Special Branch had people implanted in the senior IRA leadership, as did MI5, and someone back in London is in danger of having their budget cut so wants to fan a few flames with a BBC news article and a couple of pipe bombs. Dissident Republican groups must be like that old joke about Communist Party USA meetings being basically drinking sessions for FBI undercover agents, only with the MI5.

IIRC there was a Dutch "far left" party which was entirely an intelligence service set up.
