Can I take as the Syrian Rebels or if not I'll take Palestine and could you help me as I'm new to a Diplo Game

I would prefer if you took Palestine. Every turn I will post an update on global news events along with crisis that you will have to respond to. You can take additional actions each turn (Such as pass new laws/regulations in your country, sign/negotiate treaties/trade agreements with other countries, levy sanctions on other countries, declare war on other countries among other things. Essentially your acting as the leader of the country/region you choose.)
