Simple question. Had President Gerald Ford not pardoned Richard Nixon over the Watergate affair, would he have won the election against Carter, or did the pardon have no impact?

Yes, he probably wins Ohio (I think that was the close state) and the election.

A better question: does Ford win if the gaffe in the debate about Eastern Europe never happens?

Although I still think Carter was a terrible president, I am glad that happened. It led to Reagan and if it wasn't for Reagan, H.W. wouldn't have become President and if that didn't happen Clinton would still be in Arkansas and nobody would know who he was.

I thought you did. He is a funny charecter. he was a Conservative Republican then a Libertarian who casted his Virginia Electoral vote for Hospers and Nathan in 1972.
