What could've happened to her/country to cause this? Be semi-realistic

Hillary Clinton gets indicted for emails, then is caught killing puppies, bunnies, and small children on video tape. She continues to wage her campaign from her prison cell. Meanwhile, the economy collapses and sends us into another Great Depression, and Obama tells everybody to "get over it and shut up, the economy is fine." A major terrorist attack eclipsing 9/11 occurs on US soil, and Trump vows to bring the nation together and destroy our enemies, and consistently adopts a statesman-like posture leading up to the election.

Unfortunately, a 9-11 sized terrorist attack occurs. The "smoking gun" was found regarding the e-mail scandal about two months before the election, plus Hillary was heard on audio referring to both Latinos and African Americans using racial slurs, and she is accused by a former staffer of sexual harassment with credible evidence to support their claim. Donald Trump since the convention has progressively moved to the center and has expertly reached out to minorities and other groups not normally associated with supported GOP candidates while also not totally alienating his original base.
