Aguinaldo was a bloody self-proclaimed tyrant with little popular support, who collaborated with the Japanese during WWII (which makes it presumably not a coincidence that he founded the "National Socialist Party" to run for President in 1935). Filipinos are extremely fond of America.

I wouldn't support the war in the first place, but that doesn't mean its outcome wasn't a positive for the Philippines.
