It is a great paradox in the whole "competitive elections versus opportunity of holding office debate".

The more you cut offices to increase competition, the more you risk people giving up in frustration. I think Sestak openly acknowledged frustration at his inability to win as a motivation. I think Bagel feels that frustration as well, and I am not saying it is the number 1 or even the number 2 consideration, but it might just be the straw that broke the camels back in terms of leaving.

If you are a newer poster or if you are somewhat controversial even or perhaps not even. Perhaps you just happen to be running with a strong crop of candidates and end up the odd man out. For that person in that scenario, it is not disappointment of "man I wish we could have got that last seat", it is a sense of complete and utter rejection.

Perhaps and maybe we should consider it from this perspective to ensure we are at least covering all angles, there is a benefit to having larger regional assemblies in terms of giving an openness for newer players and less established players to get started.
