Probably the Essonne department (the only department in the Ile-de-France I have not been to as of yet), although the Oise department is pretty close too, with the Eure a little bit further off

I've been to the battlefield in Chalmette as a kid, and my English teacher was a Katrina refugee from there. Plaquemines Parish always seemed geographically interesting. It probably has more Mississippi Riverfront than any other county-equivalent.

I went to the battlefield in Chalmette as a kid as well (I went once when I was 11), thus I've been to St Bernard Parish. And I went there by steamboat, which was pretty cool.

I've never been to Plaquemines Parish though.
