Inspired by SunriseAroundTheWorld's thread, here's part of my answer in that one (the one that's relavant to this one):

I think the last time I would have voted in a Democratic Presidential Primary would have been for Dick Gephardt in 1988 and the last time I would not have voted for the GOP candidate for President would have been in 1996 (Perot)

1956 was the last election I would've considered voting for the GOP candidate. 1952 is the last election where I would definitely vote for the GOP candidate.

Same here.  I respect Ike, even though he's overrated by many.  Stevenson was quite meh.

I would have voted McCain in 2008. He was right on the money about Citizens United and that gosh darn John G. Roberts

Just sticking to elections I was able to actually vote in, if it were held today I might have actually voted Romney in 2012 instead of Stein.

1960 for me. Kennedy ran a pretty right-wing campaign against Nixon (compared to modern Democrats).

2004, maybe 2012. I abhor Bush and Romney, but McCain’s ok.

So why not 2008?

1960 for me. Kennedy ran a pretty right-wing campaign against Nixon (compared to modern Democrats).
cuz he’s talking about voting for the democrat?

Eisenhower is the last Republican nominee I would have considered supporting, so probably 1956, but it's possible the actual answer would be 1904 if I had to go back and vote in every election.

For American elections: Probably 1992 if you count voting third party. If not, either 1956 or 1904.

I should expand on this: I'd have trouble supporting Stevenson in 1952 because of Sparkman's presence on the Democratic ticket. In 1956 I'd have no such qualms with Kefauver, but after a largely successful first term I'd still have considered supporting Ike.

Yep, you're obviously right. My turkey-intoxicated mind assumed that pretty much everyone on atlas without a blue, yellow, or tan (Const. Party) avatar is left-wing. Fixed.

1952

1976's the last one worth consideration.

If you count third party, 2016, but if you count Republicans, definitively, 1916. The only Republican nominee I would've considered voting for recently was Gerald Ford or maybe Bob Dole.

If third parties are included, 1980 for Anderson. If no third parties are allowed, with hindsight, 1976 for Ford easily. Hindsight aside, 1972, McGovern was that bad of a nominee (even though I like him politics aside).

I might have gone for Carter in 1976 or 1980... maybe... the southern pride kinda thing.

The last one I would have for sure voted for a Democrat, 1964 for Johnson

McGovern, maybe Carter.  certainly would/did consider some later Democrats though, such as Kerry in 2004, without ultimately voting for them.

Third Party? 1996 because of "welfare reform"

For the GOP? 1960 largely because JFK's foreign policy without hindsight would have turned me off

1980 for Anderson. If for a Republican, 1956 for Eisenhower.
