Well today marks the 40th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior in Memphis, Tennessee.

Thus, you all know what I am going to ask you. What is your opinion of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior?

For me, it would be extremely positive.

How do people find him negative? I just can't comprehend that.

Hate.  Ignorance.  Fear.

Uh, he had one extra marital affair that has been confirmed.  There were rumors of others that remain unconfirmed.

But as leaders of nations go, I know of another "King" who made love to some hottie he saw taking a bath...then had her husband murdered so he could cover up her illegitimate pregnancy.

I don't excuse a man's sin.  But I also don't see a man's sin as taking away all the good he did.  Of course, I realize a lot of conservatives don't believe Dr. King did anything good.  "Those people" and all that...

A great, great man.

Here is my personal favorite speech of his...

Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence

http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkatimetobreaksilence.htm

Giving that speech really took balls.

King haters have never felt obligated to substantiate any of their claims. For them, it's enough that tailgunner Joe and good 'ol J. Edgar Hoover thought the guy was a "commanist"

Fairly positive.  I read recently that his autopsy showed that he had a heart of a 60 year old.  I wonder if he had not been shot how long he would have lasted.

I wonder about the alternate history.

Very positive. Don't like the way he's been turned into something he wasn't though.

Can anyone who voted negative come clean?

I just did by mistake. Sad
