What the...?!  No one is talking about throwing him in jail or the government taking any action against him.  Are you sure you are responding to the right post?

Actually, the government may take action against him.  He's supposed to get preclearance from DoD for any operational details in his biography and he didn't.  Which means he'll either end up in trouble or he'll stick to just the stuff that's already been leaked.

If he was an employee of some corporation and leaked documents showing that the company was involved in the blood diamond trade, with information that might put some people at risk, nobody would be calling for him to be executed.  Yet somehow because it's the government, he deserves to suffer.

Overall, I'm not sure I even take offense to him being called a "traitor," given how I love treason when it's committed against states.

I'd be tempted to call Adrian Lamo a traitor for snitching on Manning.

Please read the OP and my posts.  Neither I nor the OP said anything about the government executing him.  That is not the topic of this thread.
