It seems that the administration is dragging its heels and doesn't really want a constitutional convention.

If you support the Constitution join the Progressive Party!

well, if the rulling democratic party and the repulican party and o/c the progressive party (that all along pushed the idea) agrees what's the problem?
the administration draging it's feet
the progressive party is currently working on a draft for a constitution and will draft one for the convention.

The vast majority of Democrats are also interested in the convention.

I suggest a historic date for the opening. Can anyone think of one between now and June 23rd?

April 9th, the day of Lee's surrender perhaps?

I say coming friday - March 5th, so the president will know his duties and limits of power asap. He takes office March 4th
