Montgomery, AL  - A newly released poll from the Capital Survey Research Center shows Alabama Republicans like Rick Perry, but he's not running away with the race.

The poll was conducted over several weeks from late July to mid-August, and reached over 840 registered voters. The poll was conducted both with, and without Sarah Palin who continues to be ambiguous about her future plans.

When asked about who they support for President, Alabama Republicans had this to say :

When Sarah Palin is included:

Rick Perry: 23%
Mitt Romney: 20%
Sarah Palin: 12%
Herman Cain: 10%
Ron Paul: 8%
Michele Bachmann: 8%
Newt Gingrinch: 6%
Rick Santorum, Jon Huntsman: Less than 1% each
I don't know: 14%

When Sarah Palin is not included:

Rick Perry: 29%
Mitt Romney: 24%
Michele Bachmann: 11%
Herman Cain: 7%
Ron Paul: 7%
Newt Gingrich: 5%
Rick Santorum: 1%
Jon Huntsman: 1%
I don't know: 14%

I think we can agree that Perry will lead in the upcoming PPP polls from NC, KY and WV.

Perry then leads in 11 states, Romney also leads in 11 states, Bachmann in 5.
