A very important issue, of course:)
Democrats: Clinton: Red. Simply because she was red in 2008 and her husband was red in 1992. Biden: Blue. Warren: Green (similar to Obama in 2008) O'Malley: Yellow Fifth ranked candidate (Cuomo, Warner, Schweitzer, etc): Brown.
Republicans: Christie: Red. (Giuliani in 2008 and Huntsman 2012 were red, this will continue the moderate pattern) Paul: Yellow. (Paul's dad was yellow in 2012) Ryan: Green (It'll match Romney's green in 2008 and 2012) Bush/Cruz/Rubio (whoever has more national support when the debates start): Blue Santorum: Brown. (Not for the obvious reason lol, it's because that's what his color was in 2012)
I don't know how the colors are determined, and it's difficult to "rank" candidates because you don't know until you're half way done with the primary.
If it were up to me, I'd rank the colors from 1st to 5th for the Dems: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Brown for the top 5. And for the Republicans 1st to 5th: Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Brown. Any below the 5th place would just be purple. Their ranking would be based on how they poll nationally, using an average of the last 3 polls, similar to how we use state polls. If their rankings changed, their color would change. This way, at the end, the eventual Dem nominee would be red, the second place finisher in blue, etc. And the eventual Rep nominee would be blue, the second place finisher red, etc.
