Obviously Assange must be tried for being a rapist!

...In the US...

...on as of yet non-existent charges...

...without any transparance as to what's going to happen to him...

Actually I suppose an absolute disappearance is the most likely event.

Ala, GITMO?

They have their own baseball field?

How do you know that's not for the guards?

It's surrounded by cell blocks.

JJ, do you think the personnel there sleep outside.....I'd call them bunkhouses

No, but I'd doubt that they'd have to wall their ball field either.

You guys do know that such tall majestic conifers don't grow in Cuba or am I missing a joke?  That is Pelican Bay.

Something told me they were not using the seventh inning stretch for prayer.

What I don't understand is why anyone thinks the United States would have an easier time extraditing him from Sweden than from the United Kingdom if and when they issue a warrant on espionage charges?

He has no first amendment rights. Beyond the release of confidential documents not being considered free speech, he isn't an American citizen and did nothing in America.

Obviously the leaker should have the world come down on him like a tonne of bricks. As for Assange, he probably did nothing illegal, just highly immoral.

I believe she's referring to the targets of Anonymous.

Assange gets out Thursday.  200k pounds bail (over 300k in US currency).  Has to wear ankle bracelet, strict curfew (can't leave home 10AM-2PM and 10PM-2AM), turn in his passport.

I find it interesting that they're taking such stringent measures toward a non-dangerous criminal.

It is interesting to imagine how the US government transmits their instructions to the 'judge' in the matter - do they send a secret message (haha, somewhat ironic in the circumstances) to the British government who then direct the judge by sending some man in black to visit with him?  What sort of people are the go-betweens?  Some informal politico, like any old right-wing politician? Or an actual 'agent' of some sort?

I really find such practical mechanisms of the actual working of subversions of justice and normal operations of government to be fascinating.

It may have something to do with the fact that evaded justice to begin with. But then again, conspiracies are so much more fun.

So far at least he hasn't been treated in a noticeably unusual way; apart from the keeness with which the case has been pursued.

You know, wouldn't that just be the greatest piece of trolling ever? I mean if he actually did that? Who would believe claims of suicide? lol

All we said was, or all I said was........if he's found hung, he might not have done it himself.......the rest was a bit of humor.
