State Representative Heather Cooper Kicks Off Campaign With Rally in Salem

Rep. Cooper spoke in Salem, Oregon, at her first rally, in which she discussed recent events and the upcoming race.

"Look, I'd like to start by saying how very glad I am to be in my hometown of Salem. I live here and I work here, in the state capital...So, as you all know, I am running for Congress from our state's brand-new congressional district, the 6th. I'm running for this seat because I am dissatisfied - and downright angry - with what's going on in Washington right now. Biden and the Democratic congress just passed a multi-trillion dollar Infrastructure Plan. I am all for infrastructure - to an extent. 3 trillion dollars that the American people will have to pay for, however, is a different matter altogether. It represents what's wrong with the administration - their policy of big government that becomes government overreach. The problem is, we can't do anything about it because Democrats have control over Congress right now. That's the reason I'm running - to change that. We need to, and we will, win back Congress next year to stop big government, critical race theory, higher taxes, excessive regulation, and the rest of the Democratic agenda! We can do that - but to do that, we need to win seats just like this one. I am running as a proud conservative for Congress, as someone who people across Oregon's 6th will be able to count on for results and kept promises. But here's the other thing. There are three other candidates - Scott, Brooks and Miller - who will tell you the same thing I just did, they'll tell you that they are the conservative candidate. So I'd like to take a few minutes to clarify that, to make sure that they don't mislead you like the mainstream, left-wing media has misled the American public. There are three other candidates in this race: Doyle Brooks, Dale Scott and Ted Miller. Now, who are they? Let me start with Doyle Brooks. He may be someone you've heard of - he's a very conservative, very Republican talk radio host. And, full disclosure, I've got nothing against him. I've listened to his talk radio show at times, and I agree with a lot of what he says. He is not a bad person, and to some extent, neither are his views. The trouble is that he's an extremist. I am conservative. But I'm not a radical. Left-wing radicals like the ones in Congress right now, but make no mistake, right-wing radicals like Marjorie Taylor-Greene aren't good, either. I know what you're thinking - that these people are Republicans. No, they are not. They do not represent the Republican Party. We are a very conservative party. We are America first. But what we are not is a fringe conspiracy theory group. The trouble is that Mr Brooks has voiced support for crazy conspiracy theories like Q'Anon, and I'm calling him out on that. Because not only is that kind of thinking not aligned with the Republican Party, it's not winning. Returning to what's going on in Congress right now, we need to win competitive seats just like this one in 2022 to win the House of Representatives back and restore our freedoms and lower our taxes. Doyle Brooks isn't going to win. He won't say that, of course, but he just can't win. The reality of this district is that it's very competitive, and you must win swing voters in order to win this district. I can do that. I'm not saying I'll win every independent out there, but I can definitely win enough to win this race. Doyle Brooks? He can't. So what will we get if we nominate Doyle Brooks? We'll lose this race, and we will get some far-left representative for this district, someone who will align themselves blindly with the Biden agenda, someone like Yuri Testikov who's a communist and wants to dismantle our government. That's what we'll get if we nominate Doyle Brooks. So make no mistake - he masquerades as someone who can bringe change, but the only change he'll give to us is to give us a Democratic representative. He's unelectable. So in reality, guys, and I say this to each and every Doyle Brooks supporter out there: I understand if you like Doyle. I consider him too conservative and too much of a believer in conspiracy theories, but I agree with him on many other issues. The only trouble is, Doyle Brooks cannot win, and if you vote for him you are sabotaging this race and helping a Democrat win this race. Believe it or not, in a way, a vote for Brooks will be a vote for the Biden agenda itself, because that's the person we'll have representing us if he wins the nomination. Okay, then we have Ted Miller, who goes in the other direction - both in terms of his views and in terms of his sexual orientation. Yes, folks, Ted Miller is gay. Not only that, he supports legalizing all drugs, including very, very harmful drugs like cocaine and heroin. That is absolutely not what this party stands for. Absolutely not. I personally have no problem with gay people, but I think some Republicans do, and I understand that. And I also completely understand if you have no problem with gay people. What I find much more concerning is his wanting to legalize all drugs! You know, even most Democrats, even the far left, even AOC and her Squad, even they would not go that far. They wouldn't. And they're right, for a change. There's a reason drugs like heroin are illegal. Because people abuse those drugs, they get addicted, and they abuse others and increase crime. That's what Ted Miller wants. So honestly, the only people who should support a guy like Ted Miller are people who want more drug abuse, more crime. Which is not what our party stand for. At all. Lastly, we have Dale Scott, a rich executive who has no experience and questionable views, someone who thinks they can buy this seat, which they cannot, because our party is the party of the middle class, and we won't tolerate people who think they can buy our votes. I mean, I like Nike, but I don't like people who think they are entitled to a seat in Congress because they have a big title at Nike. No. We need people who are concerned about their government, and people who have experience in government, to run for congress, not some semi-conservative executive who thinks of this as a fun project he can buy. No. So, folks, I think it's clear that I am the choice for this district, for conservative values. Our country is ready for small government, and we're ready to stop instilling values of inferiority in our schoolchildren, increasing taxes, increasing regulations, decreasing our freedoms and stopping debacles like Biden's botched Afghanistan plan. So I'm ready to kick this campaign off and start fighting for conservative values, and I hope you are too."

Nike executive Dale Scott kicks off campaign for new congressional district in Oregon

Scott started his campaign off with a rally in downtown Salem

"Thank y'all for coming out tonight. This is one giant crowd. If you elect me, I promise to fight for the best interests of all of my constituents from the fast food employee to the factory worker to the student.

Biden's administration has been no bueno for the great people of our country, and especially our district. The price of household items has exploded, with many working people being unable to afford basic necessities. If this keeps up, we might very well have another Great Depression on our hands.

Our schools are teaching Critical Race Theory and indoctrinating our children. During distance learning, many parents discovered the nasty reality of our education system. Left-wing teachers think that it is OK or even morally virtuous to shove their ideas down our kids' throats. School administration has been complacent or even supportive of this. Additionally, our kids are being forced to read sexually explicit material as early as elementary school. A vote for me is a vote against this nonsense.

Let me preface this was saying that COVID-19 is a serious issue. Studies have shown that the COVID-19 vaccine protects you and others, however, the choice to get vaccinated should well be a choice, rather than a mandate. However, most Democrats and even some Republicans are flouting the American tradition of individualism. Meanwhile our governor in the state of Oregon, Kate Brown is mandating outdoor masking, whether or not you are vaccinated. While liberal elites are forcing masks on you, they are regularly violating their own rules. While masks work, they are simply unnecessary for the fully vaccinated.

Now to address my opponents in this race. Where do I start? Yuri Testikov is a communist who wants to abolish fossil fuels in 2 years, abolish the police, describes the fossil fuel industry as vampiric. We simply cannot abolish fossil fuels that quickly, as we do not yet have any replacement. The police are a vital part of our community and do more good than harm. We would be risking our entire economy to achieve this. If you work in energy, as many Oregonians do, Tesitkov, if he wins, will cost you not just your job, but your livelihood, and the futures of your children and grandchildren. We need to punish bad cops, that's for sure, but we should still enforce our laws. Unlike what he might tell you, I am by no means afraid of Testikov. As the kids say, "Come at me, bro". A vote for Tesitkov is a vote for an impoverished, lawless America. Now on to Heather Cooper. She is a career politician. Do you know what career politicians do? They take the money, of you the taxpayer, and spend it on frivolities because that's what their fat-cat donors want. She called me a RINO, yet she is the one who wants to restrict your constitutional right to bear arms. Do you know why we have the 2nd amendment? So the citizenry can defend themselves against government tyranny. She, quite frankly, lied about the reason I am running because that's what career politicians do, they lie to you and they manipulate you, to get your vote. Meanwhile, I am self-funded and won't hesitate to tell you the full truth and nothing but the full truth. We also have Ted Miller. He supports programs such as UBI, which disincentivize work, and undermine our prosperity as a nation. He wants to legalize all drugs, which would impact people of all walks of life in a negative way, especially vulnerable individuals such as children. Lastly, we have Doyle Brooks. While Trump was a decent president and did more good than bad for this country, Brooks acts like he is some sort of deity. The network he works for, OANN, has blatantly lied to the American public, claiming that Trump won the 2020 election 410-128. No Mr. Brooks, Trump lost, and we need to focus on 2022 and beyond."

Campaign Motto: "For Peace and Prosperity"

Heather Cooper replies to Dale Scott's Speech: "I agree with much of what Mr Scott says here. I agree with a lot of his policy positions, and I agree with his assessment of Doyle Brooks. We need to start by addressing the fact that we lost in 2020, and then look toward winning in 2022 and in 2024. We cannot support lies, no matter what. Many of us, myself included, are still upset over the result in 2020. But that does not mean Donald Trump won. Legitimate questions were raised about some ballot irregularities, but they were fully resolved with recounts and the Maricopa county audit. Having said that, the difference between Mr Scott and I is that I will not lie to the people of Oregon's 6th, since I believe they are capable of making their own decisions. He has called me a 'career politician.' If being a 'career politician' means being constantly and consistently dedicated to serving the people, then yes, Mr Scott, I am a 'career politician,' because while you were out there at a big business raking in profits, I was representing the people of Salem in the state legislature, something I'm very proud of. And no, Mr Scott, not all 'career politicians' are corrupt. This may be your experience at your business, but it's not the case here in Oregon. And lastly, I object to your slanderous remarks. I am not an opponent of the Second Amendment; you would know this if you took the time to review your opponents' policy positions before hurling baseless accusations. I support a few, common sense background check measures, but nothing more and absolutely nothing that would infringe on Americans' right to bear arms. I think the measures and regulations/restrictions I mentioned are good ideas, since it cannot be denied that there have been numerous shootings, including at schools. It might make sense to arm teachers, as President Trump once suggested, in some circumstances, but as that is not happening, we must find alternative ways to end school shootings and no longer allow madmen to massacre our schoolchildren and citizens. If a bill comes restricting guns, I will absolutely vote against it. But if a bill comes on background checks, to make sure mentally ill people, to make sure former criminals, to make sure people with domestic abuse, do not have access to guns. I think we can all agree that such people shouldn't be able to access rifles and shotguns, Mr Scott, the only difference is that you'll refuse to do anything about it while I support taking steps and meaningful action on this issue, while absolutely not infringing on Second Amendment rights, since anyone who is not mentally ill and does not have a criminal history or history of abuse will still be able to access guns. Do your research. So while I agree with much of what you said, Mr Scott, I think the big differences between us is that I am driven and determined to serve the people, while you have unknown and questionable motives, and that you are not above resorting to lies immediately after beginning your campaign, do not do your research and do not have any integrity whatsoever."

Dale Scott responds to attacks from Doyle Brooks

"Doyle Brooks is a grifter, plain and simple. I said that he does not believe that Trump lost the election, and he did not respond to that. I am a Republican in the mold of Glenn Youngkin or Chris Sununu rather than Marjorie Taylor Greene. I favor tradition, and while Brooks might tell you, that exact same thing, it is clear that he does not believe in the tradition of admitting to losing when you lose"

"While I disagree with Mr Scott on some issues, the assessment of Doyle Brooks is absolutely correct. I think both of us can agree that Mr Brooks should admit that Donald Trump lost in 2020, and think we should release a joint statement asking him to do so, or to clarify his position on this important issue.

Dale Scott responds to attacks from Heather Cooper

"Heather Cooper's claims of "doing good for the people for Oregon" ring hollow. She is a career politician, who is a part of the swamp. I ran to destroy that swamp and be a part of a government that seeks to serve the people rather than donors"

"No, Mr Scott, you are wrong yet again. I did not accept donations of more than $50 from anyone in my campaigns for the State House of Representatives. Unlike many other Republicans I've also declined donations from the NRA, and am not beholden to them or any other group. The only group I served loyally are the people of my district - not donors. Not evryone is part of the swamp. Thankfully, Oregonians can see through this nonsense, as the people of my district know that I have served them faithfully and chose to reelect me because of that reason. Unlike you, I am not trying to buy this race. I'm interested to know why you'd attempt to distort the truth on this. In particular, what rings hollow is your continued usage of the terms 'the swamp' and 'career politicians.' No, I am neither of those, and the people of my district know that. I've introduced bills that wil benefit my district and have voted for the best interest of my district, which is why my district has increased in prosperity and wealth during my tenure. While I've helped the people of my district, you have helped only your own wallet and your business. The closest you have come to serving the people of this district is selling them shoes, while I have actually represented the people. You cannot expect to win by using your wealth and attempting to misconstrue my record of progress, Mr Scott. Do not underestimate the people of Oregon's 6th, as they will see through your lies and distortions. If you actually had a plan for serving the district, you'd remind people of your policy positions and track record (correction: you don't have one!) instead of continually attacking me with baseless accusations."

COOPER SPENDS 2 POINTS ON TV AD IN PORTLAND MEDIA MARKET, 1 POINT ON RUNNING THAT SAME AD IN EUGENE MARKET

"Washington is failing. Biden and the Democratic Congress have driven our country into the ground with the crises at the border [images of border crisis] and in Afghanistan [images of Afhganistan withdrawal]. They are using critical race theory to make schoolchildren ashamed of their race. Luckily, it doesn't need to be this way. We need to flip Congress in 2022; when we do so we can begin undoing the damage the Biden administration and the Democrats have caused. And the path to victory runs right through this new district, Oregon's 6th. We need a strong, vocal conservative with the experience to win and the grit to serve. We have four candidates: Ted Miller, a gay man who'd like to legalize all drugs, a position even AOC's Squad and progressives don't take, and for the simple reason that it's insane even by their standards. Doyle Brooks, a far-right radio host who believes conspiracy theories and the idea that Trump won 400+ electoral votes, someone who cannot win in a general election and whose nomination will almost certainly result in a progressive like Yuri Testikov, who's an ancharist communist, winning the race. Then we have Dale Scott, an inexperienced Nike executive with questionable views who thinks he can buy this race. Last but not least, we have Heather Cooper, who has loyally represented the people of Salem for four years, someone who is a conservative without supporting crazy conspiracy theories or wanting heroin legalised, someone who is electable and will fight every day to take down the left-wing Washington establishment and get this country on the right track again. Conservatives all across this district, Oregon's 6th, will be able to select one of these people to possibly help them win back Congress, but they must choose wisely and make sure the candidate they choose doesn't end up losing to some diehard progressive who'll work with the Democratic congress. It's clear the choice for this district if we want a conservative in Congress is Heather Cooper, who will cut taxes and fight critical race theory and mask mandates like she did in the State House of Representatives. If that's what you want to happen nationally, vote for Heather Cooper in the GOP primary for Oregon's 6th - and we can make America great again after two years of Biden and a Democratic congress! I'm Heather Cooper, and I approve this message."

COOPER SPENDS FINAL POINT FOR THIS ROUND RUNNING A NEWSPAPER ADVERTISEMENT ACROSS THE DISTRICT:

Republican voters have four choices for the upcoming primary in Oregon's 6th district, a brand-new, competitive district sure to play a major factor in who wins the House in 2022:

  • Ted Miller, a homosexual 'libertarian' whose claim to fame is his calls for legalizing all drugs, including highly dangerous drugs such as heroin which even AOC and her Squad do not want legalized
  • Dale Scott, a very wealthy, out-of-touch Nike executive with unknown political views an even less political experience who hopes to buy his way into this new seat
  • Doyle Brooks, an unelectable, far-right conspiracy theorist who believes Trump won with over 400 electoral votes in 2020 and someone who, if nominated, will practically deliver the race to the Democratic candidate, helping to sabotage our chance to win back Congress in 2022
  • Heather Cooper, a tried and tested conservative who's proven policy chops, experience and electability with four very effective years serving the people of Salem (District 19) in the State House of Representatives, fighting vigorously against tax increases for her district and helping to increase the median wealth there, and someone who will bring that same fight against critical race theory, unfair mask mandates, and the rest of the Democratic agenda when she is elected

The choice for Oregon's 6th if you are conservative (whether moderately conservative, America First, or libertarian) in the primary election is very clear. A vote for Heather Cooper is a vote for conservative values and a vote against the failed Biden agenda.

Heather Cooper holds town hall in Keizer:

REP. COOPER: "I'm so glad all of you could join me today for this town hall in Keizer. It's very important citizens like you take part in government and ask questions, of both candidates and representatives. I'd like to begin by saying that I will hold at least two town halls a month if I am elected your representative, because I will always be answerable to the people, no matter what, just I live I've been as a state representative, something you shouldn't expect of any of my opponents.

[APPLAUSE]

PERSON 1: "I have a question, how do you plan on fixing the immigration crisis at the border?"
REP. COOPER: "That's a great question, I'm glad you asked. As most or all of you know, President Donald Trump proposed building a border wall to help tackle illegal immigration. Honestly, we need that, but we need other, more important changes. We need to penalize businesses that hire illegal immigrants, and we need to increase funding for ICE and other border patrol groups that are defending our border. We need to tighten border security and make it harder to cross the border."
PERSON 1: "How will you pay for all this?"
REP. COOPER: "Another great question! You know, when liberals in Washington propose a new program, they never tell you how it will be paid for. You only find out much later when you notice your taxes have increased, or you find that the national debt has gone up. Well, we can tighten border security and at the same time, neither increase taxes on the middle class, nor increase the national debt. I'm going to propose something radical, something that will make my opponent, Dale Scott, worry greatly. I'm proposing raising taxes massively on the uber-rich, on those making over $600,000 a year. I know most of you are opposed to taxes, but most of you are working hard to provide for yourselves and your families. Those making over $600,000 a year, on the other hand, have much more money than they need. You should be very pleased with the tax increase unless you are like Dale Scott and make more than $600,000 a year, because by increasing taxes on this group, we can do two things at once - we can actually reduce taxes on those making less than $600,000 a year, and at the same time, we can start tackling the national debt. Don't confuse this with what Mr Scott or the liberals tell you - the liberals want to increase taxes on the middle class that works hard to earn their paycheque, and Mr Scott wants to keep your taxes the same and decrease taxes on the ultra-wealthy. The truth is, I agree with the vast majority of what President Trump did, but not with the 2017 tax cuts. Because perhaps they cut your taxes, but in reality they helped only the ultra-rich, those who have their own private jets, those who probably donate to the left-wing establishment on a regular basis, cut taxes on people like Jeff Bezos up in Washington who has a history of backing far-left candidates and ideas. President Trump wanted a middle-class tax cut, but the fat cats managed to get taxes reduced for them at the expense of all of you sitting here today. If I go to Congress, I will fight the ultra-rich who seek to increase your taxes and decrease their own. I support tax cuts for the middle class, but not for the ultra-rich who want to take advantage of all of you."

PERSON 2: "But isn't that increasing taxes?"
REP. COOPER: "Not if you are like more than 99% of Americans and make less than $600,000 a year. If you're in that 99% that's been ignored by politicians of both parties, the 99% President Trump helped, then you get tax reductions. But if you're one of the people who makes over $600,000 a year, do not expect tax increases, expect to pay your fair share and to help those who have less. We need smaller government, yes. We can achieve that. We can cut your taxes, and cut the national debt, if we only just finally make the ultra rich pay their fair share. Down with the ultra-rich who have profited over the last several decades and left the hard-working, middle-class people behind!"

PERSON 3: "What do you plan on doing about drugs?"
REP. COOPER: "Good question, I'm glad you asked. You know, drug abuse is a real problem. That's why we have the DEA, to restrict certain drugs that are highly addictive, that lead to abuse of those who use them and the families of those who use them. Now Ted Miller is one of my opponents in this race, and he'd like to legalize all drugs. I'd like all of you to take a moment and just think about that. All drugs, heroin, cocaine, whatever, will be available on every street corner for anyone to abue. Even AOC and her socialist Squad oppose this, and for once they are right. What we need, rather, is to allow drugs to be used for medicinal purposes, you know, for medical purposes, for veterans. Not recreational use, obviously, but for veterans to use for medical reasons. Drugs can have good uses. The trouble is when people advocate using them recreationally. Ted Miller is mad. We need conservatives to make sure that drugs are available for medical uses, for veterans, but to make sure drugs are never abused."

PERSON 4: "Did Trump win in 2020?"
REP. COOPER: "I stayed up all night watching the 2020 election returns, as I'm sure some of you did. The thing is, when there is an election in the middle of a pandemic, it can take multiple days to confirm results. So when I did go to bed after watching the election results for several hours, I still didn't know who was going to win. We found out by November 6, after all the votes had been counted, that unfortunately, President Trump lost the election. He won 232 electoral votes, and again, the left-wing, biased mainstream news media underestimated President Trump. But unfortunately, he lost. He did not win Georgia, or Arizona, or Pennsylvania or Wisconsin. All those states went very narrowly to Biden. I understand those of you who were confused or upset by Biden's win in these states, since President Trump had a massive lead earlier on. The trouble is, the mail-in votes, primarily Democratic, skewed toward Biden and made him win. So President Trump raised legitimate questions. There were recounts and audits, but the result has not changed. And we cannot continue to believe lies that are shredding the fabric of our democracy. We need to plan ahead for 2022 and 2024, to win back the White House and to win back Congress. We cannot continue believing this. An unfortunate consequence of the belief that President Trump won were the January 6 attacks. To be clear: impeachment of Trump was just Democrats playing politics. But January 6 was, I think we can all agree, terrible, and it underscores the fact that we must accept that we lost. We can't get roped into the lies that Doyle Brooks is peddling, of President Trump winning north of 400 electoral votes. Unfortunately, that's not what happened, Mr Brooks. If we continue to believe the idea that President Trump won it serves as a distraction from 2022 and 2024."

PERSON 5: "Do you support Trump?"
REP. COOPER: "Absolutely! I am America first, I am Make America Great Again, and President Trump's presidency was the best since Ronald Reagan's, possibly even better than his. I support most of President Trump's policies, like the border wall and stopping outsourcing and other countries stealing our jobs. I hope President Trump runs again in 2024, and defeats Biden or Harris or whoever the Democrats nominate."

PERSON 6: "What do you think of CRT?"
REP. COOPER: "I strongly oppose indoctrinating our children and making them feel ashamed of their race, of pitting students against each other, like most Americans. Parents are concerned about CRT, and rightfully. We need to address this now, and stop telling our children that they are evil because of their race."

PERSON 7: "What do you think of masks and vaccination?"
REP. COOPER: "Great question. I support vaccination. Getting the shot is a crucial step toward ending this pandemic. You must get vaccinated to help those around you. As for masks, masks were necessary before the vaccine came out. But once you have the vaccine, it should be a personal choice if you want to wear a mask or not, not something liberals force you on. Mask mandates are terrible and are restricting our constitutional rights, they are something I will fight from day one. Vaccination mandates should be allowed for businesses, since we should not allow the government to regulate business, but they should not at all be imposed nationally."

REP. COOPER: "I'm so glad all of you could join me for this town hall and I hope you'll vote for me in both the primary and the general! We can win back Congress in 2022 and end the poliicies of the far left once and for all!"

Dale Scott spends final point on a district-wide newspaper ad

"Ted Miller: a radical who supports UBI and has a drug policy to the left of AOC & The Squad
Doyle Brooks: a radical conspiracy theorist who believes in Qanon and that Trump won the 2020 election with 410 electoral votes
Heather Cooper: a corrupt career politician, who will become a part of the Washington swamp, and has a tendency to lie
Dale Scott: a reasonable, honest candidate who can help fix our economy, and bring prosperity to Oregonians of all walks of life"

Heather Cooper's reply to Dale Scott's newspaper ad: "Funnily enough, his ad seems very similar to one I aired earlier...Mr Scott has used exactly the same talking points as I have, since he's to ignorant and clueless of policy to come up with his own conclusions. The only changes I can see are his baselessly calling me a "corrupt career politician" for serving the people of Oregon's 19th for four years, and calling himself "reasonable" rather than the big businessman, someone who thinks he can buy this seat, that he truly is. And after plagirizing my ad and then baselessly calling me corrupt, he has the audacity to say that I have a 'tendancy to lie.' It's simply laughable, but also outrageous, since Mr Scott thinks he can win over the people of Oregon's 6th through his money and baseless lies and accusations, something I'm calling him out on: the people of Oregon's 6th will see through your lies, Mr Scott, and will not elect you any more than they will elect Yuri Testikov."

Dale Scott holds rallies in Keizer, Albany over the weekend

Scott held a rally in Albany on Saturday night

"Something I failed to address in-depth during my first rally last week in Salem was Joe Biden. His presidency has been a failure from Day 1. His son, Hunter, was dishonorably discharged for cocaine use and dated his late brother's widow. You know what Joe did about this, he did squat. Starting on the day of his inauguration, Biden signed a ton of executive orders, with the two I'd like to address were the order halting construction on the Keystone XL Pipestone and a mask mandate for federal buildings. At the time, the COVID-19 vaccine was available to pretty much nobody, so in theory, the mask mandate was a good idea. However, later that very same day, Biden and his family went unmasked on federal property. I'm not talking about being unmasked in the private quarters of the White House. I'm talking about how the Bidens went unmasked at the Lincoln Memorial, one of the biggest attractions in Washington. Fast forward to July and Biden withdraws from Afghanistan. While I don't oppose the withdrawal, in theory, he handled it exceptionally poorly. We failed to rescue thousands of American civilians from the Taliban and we left our military equipment behind, allowing the Taliban to even further push their dictatorial reign. Under Biden's presidency, inflation has exploded, causing working families to be unable to afford everyday items. A vote for Dale Scott is a vote against the failures of Joe Biden & The Congressional Democrats, meanwhile, a vote for Heather Cooper is a vote for the establishment, and votes for Ted Miller & Doyle Brooks are essentially votes for the failures of Joe Biden because they simply cannot win a general election. I'll publicly eat my words if either Miller or Brooks wins the general election next fall. Good night y'all and drive home safely"

Scott held another rally Sunday afternoon in Keizer

"Good afternoon y'all. It pleases me to see the crowds at every rally, knowing they could be doing anything else, but they chose to come to this rally, to be the change that they want to see. Joe Biden has overseen and caused many failures. The biggest one is the economy, which is a disgrace. Working people are unable to afford basic items, which have skyrocketed in price. Even if you can afford everyday items, they aren't even on store shelves to begin with. The infrastructure bill really shows how much of a failure Biden has been. Even though he's the president, he couldn't get his own party to back his proposals until the eleventh hour. The infrastructure bill is called the Infrastructure and Jobs Act. Give me a break! This act will cost this great nation more jobs than it creates, and only about 10% of it will go to actual infrastructure. The rest of it will go to woke bureaucracies. Meanwhile, Heather Cooper is part of the same political establishment that created this mess. Doyle Brooks and Ted Miller cannot destroy it. I can. A vote for any of my primary opponents is a vote for this mess. Drive home safely, have a good rest of your day"

Heather Cooper on Dale Scott's rallies in Albany and Keizer: "It's a sign of how negative, dishonest, unfocused and clueless Mr Scott's campaign has been, that he has forgotten to even mention the Biden administration until now! It's clear he has no intention whatsoever of fighting the Washington establishment, or for that matter doing anything other than taking advantage of the middle class."

Heather Cooper proposes anti-negative campaigning agreement

An unfortunate result of primary campaigning is that already, the campaign has become unnecessarily negative on the Republican side; in particular, Dale Scott and I have been launching attacks at each other. This is counteractive to our common goal of a Republican winning in the district next November, since many of these same attacks being used now might be used by the Democratic candidate against the eventual Republican candidate (whether that be Doyle Brooks, Dale Scott, or myself). Aside from that, it is also unhelpful to conservatives across the district, who want to see meaningful proposals and actions taken against the Biden agenda. So I propose an anti-negative campaign pledge. All signatories will be pledging to not attack or slander any of the other signatories (so, for instance, if Doyle Brooks and Dale Scott were to sign this, both would be agreeing to mutually stopping their attacks against each other). This will, I think, help change the atmosphere of this primary (which is unnecessarily negative), and help us focus our attacks on our common adversaries, Joe Biden and the Democrats, who are hurting Americans in this district and elsewhere. Having proposed this agreement, I will be the first to proudly sign it, and am promising that hereonforth I will no longer be launching any negative attacks against any Republican candidate for the district who chooses to sign this agreement as well. Anyone who is interested in signing this pledge and ending negative campaigning in this primary should do so within the next week.

Ted Miller for Congress
Salem, Oregon

Thank you folks for coming here! I'd like to thank my employees, and the new owner of my gun shop Bill for being great employees that helped me and our customers and I'd like to start to talk about what I will accomplish in Congress. As a proud gun owner, I will make sure that our Second Amendment rights are protected and I will be a strong voice for protecting gun rights. As a small business owner, I believe we need to cut stupid regulations that hurt innovation and prevent jobs from being created, and as the only small business owner in the race, I'll be a voice in Congress that can do that, unlike the other Republican candidates who have worked in politics or are politicians.

Rep. Cooper: "Interestingly, Mr Miller's opening statement omits to mention the key fact that he would like to legalize all drugs. This is the biggest and most important cornerstone of his candidacy, and he is staying silent on it, because he realizes it will ensure he will lose. Well, folks, I think it's important, whether or not Mr Miller wants you to, that you be informed about the candidates' policies and stances, and in Mr Miller's case, it is the fact that he is a radical who'd like to legalize all drugs and freely allow massive drug abuse, a position that even AOC's Squad consider too extreme. No matter what he may say about guns or small business, no matter how much he hides this aspect of his candidacy, remember that Miller is the candidate for drug abuse."

Heather Cooper unveils an ad revealing the truth about Doyle Brooks, airs it in Eugene area (1 point) and Portland area (2 points). This ad was collaborated on by both Dale Scott's campaign for congress and Heather Cooper's campaign for Congress in an effort to raise awareness about Dale Scott's dangers.

Quote from: Informative Ad by Heather Cooper for Congress & Dale Scott for Congress
Meet Doyle Brooks. He believes in Qanon. He believes Trump won 410 electoral votes. Aside from these views being crazy, they will result in a radical, far-left Democrat such as Yuri Testikov winning the seat if Doyle Brooks is nominated. We need someone who can win, not an unelectable extremist who will never win and will give the seat to Democrats on a platter. Vote against Doyle Brooks in the Republican primary for Oregon’s 6th congressional district.

Rep. Cooper: "You know, something I haven't yet addressed is the media firestorm that came because I educated the voters on Dale Scott. I told it like it is - he is a gay man who'd like to legalize all drugs and supports UBI. I didn't once say his being gay was necessarily a bad thing, I just noted that different people have different opinions on that, which is one of the things that makes this country the way it is - the freedom of thought and opinion, the First Amendment. Yet the woke, left-wing mainstream media have baselessly accused me of 'homophobia' and being bigoted, and partisan, far-left Democrats such as Kate Brown have also said this. First of all, it's offensive to call those who are uncomfortable with gay people bigots. Moreover and more importantly, most of my attacks against Mr Miller were not for his being gay, but rather his support for legalizing all drugs. It's possible the left-wing media is aware of this and sympathizes with Mr Miller's position on this issue. Either way, we need to fight back against the woke, left-wing media: it's trying to stop the spread of information and is trying to silence people who express their opinions. It's playing politics itself and promoting its left wing agenda. When I'm in Congress I will fight against these partisan, far-left liars every day and fight for truth. That's one of the things my candidacy is about: fighting the left-wing mainstream media and its attempts to silence conservative voices and silence the truth to promote their far-left agenda. I will fight that every day. And I hope each and every one of you will support me in that fight, by voting Heather Cooper on Election Day (both primary and general)."

Heather Cooper courts Oregon Right to Life, candidly telling a spokesperson for the group: "Look, there's a perception that you are mysognistic, that you don't respect women, that you only endorse men. I know that's not true. But I think it'd help if you endorsed the female candidate in the race for a change instead of endorsing one of three men. It'd help to have a female voice strongly against abortion, and I'm that voice for this race. You could endorse Brooks or Scott, but that'll be the same old story. Instead, you can endorse me and give the PR people a field day."

Doyle Brooks @DoyleBrooksForCongress

@DaleForOregon The people will decide whether to trust someone who voted for Crooked Hillary with their vote or not and whether to believe these sudden epiphanies just before the election. However, I have a question! Is Ms. Cooper a corrupt career politician, who will become part of the Washington swamp, and has a tendency to lie, and does she only care about 2 things - her bank account balance and power or not?

To Doyle Brooks: Short answer - no, I'm not.

I was just quoting from what your friend Dale Scott used to say about you.

We subsequently acknowledged the hostilities we exchanged and agreed to stop using negative ads against each other - notably, you did not sign this pledge, which is why we are attacking you, Mr Brooks.

@ComRyder: The Republicans can't seem to work out who or what they are.

@HeatherCooper: The Democratic candidates cannot spell their own first names correctly.

@ChristineJang: The Republicans don’t seem to know what county commissioners are.

I'll admit I was wrong here...I thought Commissioner Ryder had meant to write '@TomRyder.' Either way, what we are, in answer to Ryder's question, is a group of people who are fighting for American values, smaller government, a fairer media, lower taxes (on the middle class) and  an end to the continual chaos that is the Biden administration.

Some of us are indeed that. Others are just career politicians who want to go to DC by smearing everyone else, do nothing while being paid by the taxpayers and then win re-election by hosting fundraisers.

No, Mr Brooks. The simple fact is that while Mr Scott was running a large business, Mr Miller was running his small business, and I was helping the people of my district by serving them in the State House and being a loud voice against Democratic excesses, your only 'job' has been lying to Americans about the 2020 election. We need to begin by reminding you that Donald Trump did not win 410 electoral votes in 2020 - unfortunately, he didn't win, period. You have done nothing but lie through your teeth, 24/7, to those who listen you. You've been paid to lie. You are dishonest and greedy. You have not had the courage to help the people, and thus attack those who do so as 'career politicians'. You are a disgrace to this district and party. So, Mr Brooks, why don't you clear things up - since that's what you're all about - and tell us, do you think Donald Trump won 410 electoral votes in 2020? If so, you are very clearly mad and should not be trusted. If not, you've made a career telling anyone who'll listen what you know to be lies. I do not know which is worse.

Dale Scott @DaleForOregon

@DoyleBrooks, even if you don't believe the 410 map, you could have been a true patriot and quit OANN when you found out they aired it. But you didn't. That is a sign you will be pushed around by the elites in Washington. Meanwhile, you act like I am a part of the establishment when I am self-funded.

Doyle Brooks @DoyleBrooksForCongress

Your ad said this - He believes Trump won 410 electoral votes. You have no proof for it, neither do you have one for me believing in QAnon. You just made something up. Those are the facts, and I will no longer engage in any conversation with a lying Never-Trumper, as I have wasted enough of my time doing so already.

As Mr Scott remarked, you have no reason to work with AON if they are spreading what you know to be lies, if they are spreading conspriacy theories you don't believe in. Clearly you care more about making money than you having basic principles of honesty  and integrity. In Washington, too, I can see you abandoning your principles and doing whatever's politically convenient. Besides, the 410 electoral vote comment might be an exaggeration, but you still support baseless claims that Donald Trump won in 2020. That is also completely false.

FINAL POINT - AD AIRED IN EUGENE MARKET:

"Next year, all Republicans will have a choice on who to vote for in the Republican primary for Oregon's 6th congressional district, a beautiful districts centred on the city of Salem [images of scenery in Salem and OR-06]. The district is crucial and a Republican win here will be crucial to our winning Congress, so we can stop the disastrous Biden agenda [images of the House, Joe Biden and the Afghanistan withdrawal flash one by one]. Therefore, there's only one true choice for this distict: State Representative Heather Cooper [image of Cooper]. She was born right here in this district, in Salem [image of Cooper's birthplace], and was taught the importance of conservative, family values [1990s image of Cooper and her family eating dinner togather] and public service [image of the Cooper family volunteering in the 1990s]. She was taught what it means to be an American, and to serve your hometown, state and country . So Heather, keeping those lessons in mind, launched a campaign for the Oregon House of Representatives, from the Salem-centrict 19th district, in 2016 [images: first of the Oregon State Capitol; then a map of the 19th]. It was an uphill fight, but she won [image of victory speech]. Since then, every day, Representative Cooper has served the people of Salem, and the people of the 19th district, fighting for her constituents and voting for bills that will help them and against bills that will hurt them [images of Cooper in the OR House]. And in the last five years, the lives of her constituents have markedly improved [image of Cooper hosting a town hall with pleased constituents, circa 2018]. Here's what those constituents have to say: [caption: Bob, age 49, father and war veteran] 'Miss Cooper's been a great representative, fighting for us and our values and fighting for lower taxes. She's fought for veterans like me. My wife and I have proudly voted for her in 2016, 2018 and 2020, and we'll vote for her again next year.' [caption: Annette, 65, proud grandmother of five] 'Representative Cooper has fought for senior citizens like myself. She's worked across the aisle, worked to bring healthcare for me. She is a true public servant.' [caption: Tobias, age 25, volunteer and activist] 'Heather Cooper got me interested in politics, in public service. I volunteered for her campaign in 2016, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made, because Heather taught me the value of public service, and she has fought for me, my family and everyone else in this district.' [cuts away from images of Bob, Annette and Tobias and returns to original voiceover] You've heard it from the people she's served, folks: Heather Cooper will fight for you every single day, no matter what it takes. Vote Heather Cooper on the day of the primary so we can win this race. [cuts to Heather Cooper's voice] I'm Heather Cooper, and I approve this message."

EXCERPTS FROM COOPER RALLY IN SALEM, DECEMBER 8:

"...And you know, I've run a fact-based campaign that's really just sought to educate the voters of this district, to tell them the truth about the candidates running in the Republican primary...Dale Scott and I, we actually signed an anti-negative campaign pact, and we are no longer running negative ads. Instead, we've sought to shed light on Doyle Brooks, who is frankly too radical to be elected and too radical to be representative of this district...We also attacked Ted Miller, a radical of another kind who'd like all drugs legalized - a radical postion, a completely radical and extremist stance even the Squad wouldn't take - and I attacked him on that separately as well, because that's something that really needs to be addressed, and it's something he isn't addressing...And I mentioned in a couple of my ads that he was gay. Now I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay, but it's a fact and it's a fact some voters might, understandably, be a bit uncomfortable with...So I mentioned it, because it's a fact about Mr Miller and I'm all for facts...But you know what? You know who isn't for facts? The left-wing mainstream media. They attacked me as a 'homophobe,' which I simply am not. I'm not sure if this was just a ploy to attack conservative voices and hide the truth, or if it's because they sympathize with Mr Miller's views...But this left-wing media, it's one of the things I will fight, when I get elected...We will rise up and stop the censorship and stop the lies and stop the left-wing media when we're elected! This is part of a larger pattern, a pattern of the media being left-wing...They've attacked Donald Trump, they've attacked respected figures such as Colin Powell, and they've glorified figures like Barack Obama. But we will fight for truth, and we will fight the far-left, the mainstream left-wing media when I'm in office, I'll tell you that, and I hope you'll support me!"

ENDORSEMENT MEETINGS:

December 1: Rep. Cooper meets with Senate Minority Leader Tim Knopp (R-Bend) to discuss an endorsement. She talks about conservative issues and the type of campaign she will run after winning the nomination, and how she will collaborate with him on it and take his advice.
December 4: Rep. Cooper meets with Representative Rick Lewis (R-Silverton) to discuss an endorsement. She discusses how endorsing Dale Scott would be bad optics since he claims to be a resident of Silverton despite working elsewhere, how Ted Miller and Doyle Brooks are not good candidates.
December 7: Rep. Cooper meets with Senator Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer) to discuss an endorsement. She discusses the need for more female conservatives in office.

"I recently met with three very important members, leaders even, of the Oregon Republican party: Senate Minority Leader Tim Knopp, of the city of Bend, Representative Rick Lewis of the great Silverton, and Senator Kim Thatcher of the great Keizer, to discuss a potential endorsement, as well as important issues and what kind of campaign we need to run to win this seat next November. All three of them have advanced a conservative, common sense agenda that would help the people of this district and state, and I sincerely hope all three of them will help me in my fight to bring that agenda to DC in 2023."

Rep. Heather Cooper: "While I agree with Mr Scott that Doyle Brooks is a radical, unwinnable extremist, I take fault with his saying that Yuri Testikov is a better person than Doyle Brooks is. Doyle Brooks has some good ideas (though many others are extreme); the same cannot be said of Yuri Testikov. I condemn his statement that Yuri Testikov is better than Doyle Brooks, and I suggest that he has no place in a Republican primary if he truly believes this. Doyle Brooks might be extremist but he is several steps better than an anarchist, radical, far-left socialist. We should all be able to agree on that here in the GOP, and if you don't, that's cause for concern."

Speech by Tom Ryder

"The Republicans can't even go one single day withut sniping at each other! If you wanted a summary of the modern-day Republican Party, look at their candidates here. They can't stop attacking each other for more than a single day.

The fact is that this is their focus now. Their focus is on each other. One of them couldn't even work out that the first three letters of my Twitter handle refer to my job as a County Commissioner.

Look, this Republican Party is completely rudderless, unsure of where they want to go. Oh sure, they make noises about being different kinds of Republicans, but they all do the same thing. Think about it: Bush and Trump claim to be completely different, yet they both decided to worsen our debt by passing irresponsible tax cuts that simply didn't work.

Republicans are all the same, no matter what they claim to be."

Rep. Cooper: "This statement is as baseless as would be my equating all Democratic candidates with Yuri Testikov. Clearly, you do not see the Republican field clearly - it is negative, but it is negative because of a diversity of candidates as far as ideology is concerned (something absent in the Democratic primary): we have one Clinton-Trump voter; one far-right believer of conspiracy theories; a radical who supports UBI and legalizing hard drugs; and one (1) mainstream conservative (who supports increasing, not decreasing, taxes on the rich). It's easy for there to be less negativity in a Democratic primary with 4 mainstream liberals who support Biden's far-left, radical agenda, and one socialist and borderline communist who, thankfully, represents the fringe faction of your party, but in a party that's Big Tent and holds diverse views, some negative comments to highlight different views is necessary (though I admit that the Republican primary is a little too negative, and because of that, Dale Scott and I signed an anti-negative campaigning agreement). Do your homework before making what are, quite frankly, baseless and embarrassing comments."

Rep. Cooper holds a series of rallies, touring the district. She kicks off the whistle-stop tour in the town of Mount Angel, traverses to Scott's hometown of Silverton, swings by Keizer, moves south to her hometown of Salem, then Dallas, Monmouth, Albany and finally, Corvallis. She primarily discusses her agenda when she gets to Washington (fighting mask and vaccination mandates, the biased left-wing media, and working to lower taxes on the middle class of the district). She also makes a bold campaign promise - if she gets elected, and if the district's unemplyment rate isn't down, and the median income isn't up, by one year after her inauguration (January 3, 2024), then she will resign from office. "My goal is simple: to deliver, and to fight for, Oregon's 6th and its wonderful people!"
