The pandemic has softened my music taste. A year ago I was really into frenetic film scores, especially the harsh electronica of Hans Zimmer.

Anyway, here’s my current jam - a Catalan band playing a bunch of mellow Irish jigs.

I swear, at this rate, this time next year I’m going to be unironically listening to Gregorian chants...

Ukrainian techno-folk music. A lot more fun than it sounds on paper.

If you've joined the Runrig bandwagon, may I suggest The Stamping Ground, and Proterra, specifically An Toll Dubh - an old favourite.

I may disagree with Pete Wishart's politics, but I'll never dispute his musical talent.

In honour of Vangelis, who has come to the end of his own race:

In honour of Vangelis, who has come to the end of his own race:

Part of the soundtrack of my childhood with Conquest of Paradise (which were both a bit overplayed here in France in the early 1990s).

My favorite track from him, for nostalgic and personal reasons, extracted from the soundtrack of an early 1970s TV nature documentary:

RIP Vangelis

That's a lovely piece - quite quiet and comtemplative for Vangelis. Thank you for sharing.

There’s a melancholy to the opening of Benjamin Britten’s arrangement of the national anthem that always make it stick with me. And I just can’t get it out of my head this evening.
