Great, Kevin McCarthy drops out of SPEAKER race. We need a really smart and really tough person to take over this very  important job!

Time to start courting Democrats to get to 218.

Charlie Dent for Speaker?

Not a chance. The crazies will have a field day in primaries against the members who vote for a compromise with Democrats candidate.

Several Congressmen have mentioned Tom Cole and Paul Ryan as unity candidates who could get 218+

Ryan has already ruled it out.

Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy: all tried to appease and exploit the Tea Party only to end up being consumed by it.
Poetic justice.

The hype surrounding Paul Ryan continues to build. It's leaked that Boehner personally asked him to reconsider, he's McCarthy's top choice, and he was mentioned as an acceptable candidate for Speaker by literally every Republican Member of Congress I saw interviewed today (at least twenty of them)

I'm pretty sure that he will be branded a traitor the moment he tries to raise the debt ceiling or pass some spending bills.

Wulfric might as well change his username to David Broder's Ghost.

.Mo Brooks has certainly been in the news a bit lately. Beyond being way out there beyond the looking glass, he must be an attention whore. He might fit in well right here on Atlas! Tongue

Who says he isn't already here?

He only got 200 votes out of 247 Republican representatives.
