Rather nasty little dictatorship that seemingly no one is aware of.

This is one of my favorite countries! I like it because no else knew about it (until the Tsunami on 12/26/04 and President Gayoom (sp?) crushing the democracy protests).

I don't like the dictatorial government, or its Muslim religion, but other than that it seems like a tropical paradise, albeit a poor one for its citizens.

Population- 349,000

Population Density- About 3,100 per square mile. Most people live on only a few of the islands.

Its only a few feet above sea level so Global Warming is major threat.
