What have you personally seen or heard from people around you in 2020 that makes you feel one way or another about who wins the election? Be as detailed as possible. Have you noticed any big shift in attitude from 2016? Noticed more or less yard signs for a candidate? Family members switching sides?

My Dad voted for the first time in 16 years.  People appear to be motivated.

Every member of my immediate family voted for Biden and straight-Democratic down-ballot. Nobody besides myself has previously voted straight Democrat in my immediate family. Only my mom's second vote for a Democrat for President in her life. My best friend's entire family voted for Trump in 2016, not enthusiastically but they're a union family and despised Hillary. This time, they all voted for Biden. The people in my family and among my friends who voted for Clinton with hesitation (or sat the election out) have all voted/are voting for Biden.

I only have one person in my family who has grown more fond of Trump since he took office. Most of the people voting for Trump in my family don't like him at all as a person, except for the 2016 Trump supporters who have fallen down the OAN/Qanon conspiracy rabbit hole. Another cousin of mine who voted for Trump in 2016 is voting for Biden this time around. I know plenty of people who voted for third-party candidates, and anecdotally all of them are voting for Biden.

Just my circle, but there's a lot more enthusiasm behind Biden in Wisconsin than there ever was for Clinton. He also seems to be capturing back some of the working-class white vote.

Lots of Biden signs in the suburbs and I know of at least two Trump 2016/Biden 2020 voters.

Ditto. People have come out of the woodwork to ask me how they can vote because they know I am politically inclined. My partner has gone from being totally apathetic about politics and not voting in 2016 despite my pushing to wanting to crush the GOP and voting straight D.

My best friend, who barely has talked politics with me aside from "congratulating" me in 2012 when Obama won (unclear if it was sarcastic), has donated over $1,000 to Biden.

It has been very eye-opening to say the least. At the very least, my experience aligns with the data that suggest non-voters are turning out. And it's not going to be pretty for Trump or anyone who has defended him.

A bunch of Biden signs just popped up in my area, fwiw. Most progressives/leftists I know (and there's a lot in the younger demographics of Portland) seem to be consolidating behind Biden with varying levels of enthusiasm, as well.

Seeing some Biden signs even in the heavily rural WWC areas completely outside the Franklin County metro (ex: really rural parts of Licking County).

I was 23 in 2016, and I remember a ton of people in my age group really hated Hillary, and thought Trump was a harmless joke candidate. Not sure if any of them ended up voting for him, I know at least one who voted third party. But there was definitely no enthusiasm on the Democratic side.

Completely different dynamic this time around. All of them have an intense dislike of Trump and his supporters, two of them have actively registered people to vote Democratic, there's a lot more pro-Biden sentiment on my Facebook timeline in general, and nothing like the "DNC cheated, Killary" stuff that plagued it last time.

My Dad sat out 2016, he's voting Biden. My step mom is voting for the first time in her life (Biden). My girlfriend has already voted Biden and so did her mom. Also first time voters.

Not sure why it was obvious ( not everyone in my family likes Trump) but yes it was for Trump.

Several people I know (here in far left sOcIaLiSt Seattle) who hated Clinton and voted third party in 2016 are holding their nose and voting for Biden this year. I also know a former Republican who supported Kasich in the 2016 primary and despises Trump, but couldn't quite get himself to vote for Clinton in 2016 saying he "loves Biden", and is going to vote straight-ticket Democrat this year. He's from Portland, so that's not going to make a big difference, but I imagine there are definitely a fair number of younger voters like him.

A lot of people around here in Austria think Americans are so stupid to re-elect Trump.

I’m not so sure, but I will only make a final prediction after I see the final CO and OR mail returns on Tuesday and the final polls.

I’m not totally ruling out a Trump win yet.

What has Trump done in 2020 that would make him more enthusiastic than in 2016?

A lot of my Republican-Leaning friends have had a lot of negative things to say about Trump lately. Most still voted for him, but there seems to be universal consensus among them that Biden is a good guy and would make a decent President. They don't feel hatred for him, nor do they fear his Presidency. Quite a few more of my female Republican friends have voted for Biden already. They are sick of Trump.

The best thing I heard this week was from my friend, who isn't very political and didn't vote, but is definitely conservative. He said that he's exhausted by Trump, and said that "He doesn't fix anything that he is constantly talking about. All he does is chime in, say something stupid, and make things worse" He was also completely flabbergasted that Trump was comparing his accomplishments to Abraham Lincoln when talking about Black Americans.

I have another friend who is an uninformed disengaged voter, but is a loyal Trumper. She was actually really disgusted by, and still talks about Trump's attacks on Hunter Biden for being an addict.

Overall however, most notable is that a vast majority of my Trump supporting friends just don't seem excited to vote for him again.

EDIT: I totally realize that excitement means nothing if the votes are there.

You Austrians probably are correct.
Hopefully my faith in this land of degenerate lunacy will be at least somewhat restored in a week...but I have my doubts.

-Lifelong democrats I know who supported the nominee every time except in 2016 and all in for Biden.

-Conservative family members who don't like Trump but are still voting for him.

-Other family members who typically stay out of politics voicing their disgust for Trump publicly.

-Conservative Christian friends who are likely voting 3rd party this year.

The overall take here is this: The shift is noticeably away from Trump even if Biden isn't winning them over.

In 2016, four people close to me voted Trump: my mom, grandma, and two good friends. My best friend didn't vote.

In 2020, my grandma and best friend voted for Biden. My mom and good friend voted for Jorgensen. The other friend wrote-in Dwight Eisenhower.

I mean, I personally know at least four Trump -> Biden voters (although I have my doubts about whether one of them will actually end up voting for Biden on Election Day) and two blank ballot/third party -> Biden voters.

My grandmother, who voted for Trump in 2016 (and has generally voted for every Republican her whole life) told me she's probably not going to vote at all this year because she "doesn't see the point."

She has been more or less cooped up in her house most of this year and is very frustrated with the way the pandemic has been handled and with Trump not taking it seriously.

Most if not all of my friends seem to prefer Trump over Biden, so that means Trump will be headed for a landslide of historic proportions Tongue

The people in my family who voted Trump were all Democrats who despised Newt, Bush, and even Trump in 2016.

The people in my family who were Republican all voted for Biden or write in
