As Snowe appears to appeal to a majority of Maine's Democrats she would hopefully consider switching alongside her colleagues Susan Collins and Arlen Specter if the Democrats takeover the Senate.

I don't think Hagel would switch.  For some reason I just get the sense Specter would.  Of course I have nothing to back this up with but I think he's getting on in years and might be forced to stand down in 2010; thats why I feel he might just go with the Democrats to enjoy his last years in the majority and to spite Bush and his conservative Republican critics.  I don't know about Snowe and Collins, just a theory; the latter could be gone by 2009 anyway.
