Hypocritical awful HP. I know Americans have lingering sentimentality attatched to the guy, but that's hardly an excuse - I liked Rolf Harris once before he was revealed to be a creep. I like Lostprophets until I found out the singer was one of the most vile people ever.
I think part of the problem is education. We teach kids they should be mindful of creeps abducting them on the street (rightly) and to refuse sweeties from dishevelled old men in trenchcoats. We then simultaneously tell them if this should happen to tell authorities. The message is clear in lessons: you can always trust the teacher, the priest, the policeman, the trusted adult - the people, in other words, far more likely to be a sexual abuser than Mr. Creepy under the railway bridge.
Anyway the sheer volume and diversity of institutions afflicted with covering up the sexual abuse of their members (including but not limited to the BBC, the Youtube community, the Socialist Workers Party, the Liberal Democrats, MI5, Rotherham Council, various NHS trusts; to name just some British examples) proves that sexual abuse of the vulnerable requires an urgent investigation. It's best to get everything out in the open air, rather than throwing out a few hysterical Icke-worthy comments from the press while letting villains get away scot-free.
