Good luck this weekend Lumine.

There is a lot of important stuff going to be hitting the Senate in the next short period of time. Including the Budget and Foreign Relations Review, having someone with your knowledge on both matters will be of immense value.

Good Luck and Endorsed.

I did toy with the idea, Tim, but no, lol

A British cavalry charge, I think it's the charge of the Light Brigade to be precise.
SAD.
Lumine doesn't back a #JunckerJunta. He has betrayed his country of choice in internet simulated games.
Deport him to East Prussia.
Tongue

I really need to catch up on that. Has Prussia conquered Europe yet?

Every time someone mentions the Progressive Union, I find myself wishing to have Superique back in the game. He was damn smart and would have made an excellent Senator.

Anyway, I look forward to your future endeavors Lumine, I was hoping for a miracle but this was a steep uphill climb.

Lumine,
Have you amended the rules to make the position of deputy PPT? If not it would have violated the rules as the dean of the senate would be the acting PPT in case of absence or vacancy.

It was something I insisted on because the Dean provision was not invoked in either the Senate, nor the House to take over when Never vanished from December 9th -22nd 2016, or when Clyde disappeared for almost all of December and early January.

Therefore I insisted on an appointed Deputy to be created as part of the rules, when Never and I amended them in March 2017, and PiT and Scott carried the same thing over to the Senate.

So yes, the Deputy is in the rules and yes there is a duplicative clause right beneath it, concerning the Dean. Both chambers have had them for over a year.

It would seem there is a slight difference. It seems the Senate removed the clause 4 above in the House section. So yea the Dean doesn't appear to have power to assume the roll of PPT anymore.

I will certainly be pursuing similar provisions on the House side.

We already have the succession part in place:

so we just need to add the no confidence process for that one anyway.

Being PPT/Speaker is mostly about keeping the trains running on time. There are a lot of things that I have wanted to accomplish in a given session but fell short of for a variety of reasons. The main thing I would point out is that you can go to any and all lengths to push for activity and encourage activity but at the end of the day you can merely lead the horse to water, you cannot make it drink.

The only long term fix for "lack of robust debate", which has afflicted both chambers and is also what is basically at the root of what Never and I are discussing over in his thread about the budget, is for a change in mindset of the way that people play and engage in the game and hopefully the attracting of more people who have major interest in policies and the issues. Only the people can ever really change that.

I think you have done great as PPT, and I don't think you should be disappointed.

Also I hope your situation works out satisfactory.

Out of region endorsement!

Whoever is trolling your poll needs to stop, especially such vicious and intolerable attacks.
