I think Elliott, KY voted Republican in the 1860s, but I'm not positive.

Elliott County, KY voted Republican in 1864 and 1868.

Have any counties never voted Democrat?

There are some. Ogle County, IL for example has never voted Democrat. Next door Lee County, IL lasted voted Dem in 1852, before the existence of the Republican Party.

There are several counties in Appalachia (specifically eastern Tennessee and Kentucky) that have never voted Democratic as well.

Elliott County, KY voted Republican in 1864 and 1868.

Where did you find that?

For the record, what I said was inaccurate. Elliott County, KY was formed in 1869 from pieces of Morgan, Lawrence, and Carter counties, though the majority of the area came from Carter. Morgan and Lawrence counties were heavily Democratic at the time; for example, Morgan was 100% Dem in 1864 (though admittedly only 52 votes).

During both 1864 and 1868, Carter County voted Republican (51% and 53% respectively). Because of  the geography of the area, it can be assumed that the majority of what would be Elliott County's votes came from Carter County. Technically, I do not know for certain if Elliott County would have voted for the Republicans in 1864 and 1868, but I would guess that it would have.

I don't see any reason to assume that.

Well, I could very well be wrong. Feel free to come up with an estimate of how it would have voted if you'd like.

Kane County, UT is one that has never voted Democratic. I'm sure Jackson County, KY never has either. Obama was also the first Democratic Presidential candidate in history to win DuPage county, as well as McHenry, Kane and Kendall. Western Nebraska must have some too.

Every county in Utah went Dem in 1916.

No, actually, with the arguable exception of Keya Paha.

Why is that arguable? It went Dem in 1916 and 1896.

How about we have a list of the last time a county voted the other way.

Here's California:

2004 Republican: Trinity, Butte, Nevada, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Fresno, San Lois Obispo, Ventura, San Berdadino, Riverside, San Diego

2000 Republican: Alpine, Mono

1992 Democrat: Del Norte, Siskiyou, Tehama, Plumas, Tuolumne, Mariposa,

1988 Republican: Napa, Sacramento, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Barbara, Imperial

1984 Republican: Humbolt, Mendocino, Sonoma, Lake, Solona, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Los Angeles

1980 Republican
Santa Cruz, Marin

1976 Democratic
Shasta, Lasse, Sierra, Yuba, El Dorado, Amador, Placer

1968 Democratic: Kings

1964 Democratic: Modoc, Glenn, Colusa, Calaversa, Tulare, Inyo, Kern, Yolo, Madera

1948 Republican: San Francisco, Alameda

1940 Democraic: Sutter

1936: FDR wins every county, including Orange

I think you got Yolo county wrong. As far as I can tell it voted democrat all the way back to 1960, perhaps even earlier but I'm not sure.

Yolo last voted Republican in 1952.
