Mitt Romney's SuperPAC is going up on TV for the first time, launching a massive $3.1 million TV and radio ad buy in Iowa aimed to shore up Romney's flagging poll numbers there.

The first commercial by "Restore our Future" makes no mention of Iowa frontrunner Newt Gingrich, instead criticizing President Obama and touting Romney's economic record.

"Mitt Romney turned around dozens of American companies and helped create thousands of jobs," says the announcer."

The aggressive investment could bolster Romney's standing in Iowa, where he's slipped to a tie for second place with Ron Paul in most polls. It's also sure to up expectations there for Romney, who has taken a cautious approach for much of the year toward the caucuses.

The ad begins airing today and is only the first in what will be a sustained campaign.

Why don't they just withdraw $3.1 million in dollar bills from a bank, put them all in a big pile, and light it on fire? Just as big a waste of money and more entertaining than this boring ad.

This year is really testing the notion of the power of money and organization. Maybe Palin was right and those things arent needed anymore
