I have heard some Atlas Dems say here to blue states: Stop electing Republicans like Bill Weld, Jim Edgar, Tommy Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, Larry Hogan, Mike Castle, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.

I have heard some Atlas Republicans say to red states: Stop electing Democrats like Walt Minnick, Joe Manchin, Jon Tester, Doug Jones, etc.

Hyperpolarization has to end. Blue states should elect Republicans under the right climate and Red states should elect Democrats under the right climate.

One-party cities and states are a disaster...don't you think?

Blue states should elect candidates that I agree with, and red states should also elect candidates that I agree with. This is the only way to end polarization or whatever this thread is about.

More blue states should elect republicans and more red states should elect democrats .

This. That's also why there should be far more competitive House districts drawn by a nonpartisan commission. With more competitive races, politicians tend to play for the center and not the ideological extremes. If you're in a Titanium blue or red seat, there's all too often not much benefit from working with the other side, while you have to be worried about a primary challenger from the far-right or far-left. Since politicians want to be reelected, they consequently move away from the center to avoid a primary challenger.

The problem with a nonpartisan commission is how do we know who’s is truly independent now days . I’d rather have a commission of 5 republicans and 5 democrats draw the maps where 70% of the commission has to agree . If the commission fails to agree then an computer algorithm should draw the maps using a method agreed to in the law .

Even then I don’t think it would really depolarize things cause even in state wide races now , there is a huge incentive to play to the base more than have broad appeal because there aren’t many truly swing voters anymore . The fact that there are only 3 democratic governors in truly red states : KS, KY, LA and 3 Republican governors in truly blue states : VT, MA, MD shows how polarized our nation is .

The fact is the news media here in the US has done an absolutely terrible job covering the news and are in many ways directly responsible for how polarized we are. In fact Id blame the media for how polarized we are more than any other factor, with cable news media being the main culprit of them all.

This, but seriously because people actually do need to come to their senses and realize how horrible Republicans are

Ideally yes.  Ideally there would be people from different parties whom I'd be happy to voted for.

Realistically, the parties are more polarized today than ever.  People are increasingly aware of this, and thus split-ticket voting continues to fall.  Even if someone likes an individual candidate from the opposite party, they may be reluctant to vote for them, especially if it's a federal election, in which the said candidate goes to Congress and caucuses with the party the said voter doesn't like.

You have to have checks and balances. People overall get tired of taxes and so on....that's why Giuliani and Christie and Baker and Hogan were elected....to cut taxes and bring Dems to concede on some of those things.....

Manchin was elected to stem down the WV evangelical tide and so on

I think that not having opportunistic fascists in Congress is more important than cutting taxes for rich people

Because, because it's called split voting and it's very frequent between H and Gov and Senate races.

It can happen in 2022 due to Afro Americans make up 15 percent and don't like certain Rs and along with Arabs and Latinos and Females can cause more split voting in 2022, Ryan/DeWine, Hassan/Ayotte, Rubio/Crust, WARNOCK/Kemp

I am not always right but Mandel and DeSantis aren't liked by Afro Americans like Rubio and DeWine are

Because while Rs were in DC mourning Covid victims, DeSantis was mourning Limbaugh

Baker, Ayotte or Sununu, and Scott will win in NE

The Rs could have won the recall but Jenna isn't the right candidate, Newsom will win
