Anybody else seen it? I can only recommend it.

She's Out of my League - I thought it was funny, not great or anything.  Pretty generic comedy of that type.

Crazy Heart.  Excellent.  As someone from the Southwestern US, I really connected with a lot of the environment of the movie, but could see it be boring for many who grown up where country music is popular.  The biggest surprise was Colin Farrell, who actually seemed to try in this one.  Also, while Maggie Gylenhaal isn't particularly attractive, she gets way too much hate and is a perfectly fine actress.

Yeah, that was pretty good.

I of course meant to say where country music isn't popular, but yeah.  Next on the queue is A Single Man.  I've heard that Firth was better in that than The King's Speech (and it's all canceled out by Bridges being better in True Grit than in Crazy Heart).

I'm not a big fan of country music, but I really liked Crazy Heart, including the music in it.

Disliking country music is why I have not seen Crazy Heart yet. I also haven't seen that Anvil movie either due to my attitude toward metal. (Then again, I'm not exactly a ballet fan and I watched Black Swan...)

Maggie Gyllenhaal looks fine plenty of the time. She was certainly the best looking female in Donnie Darko.

She did look pretty decent in Donnie Darko but I'd have to say that Jena Malone is probably better looking.

Anybody else find it disturbing that that movie came out 10 years ago now? I feel old.

Thor

So much fun! It certainly washed the mediocre taste of Iron Man 2 out of my mouth.

Tom Hiddelston kind of steals the show. He helps make Loki a pretty complex and enjoyable villain.

Has anyone seen or plans on seeing "There Be Dragons" I want to see it, though critics gave it horrible reviews (then again critics often aren't that great)

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Most director/actor types are better directors, George Clooney is the exact opposite. His performance and character was great, the direction and movie as a whole was pretty average.

Yeah, Clooney movies are pretty stale.  Even Good Night and Good Luck, though an interesting story, was nothing special looking.

I watched A Single Man.   Now, that was some incredible direction.

I'm not really familiar with Thor, though I know the basics? How do they portray Thor's alter ego (is it doctor Don Blake? I think that's who he was)?

Donald Blake is an actual person (he was referred to as Jane Foster's ex), and they use his ID as a cover to spring Thor out of SHIELD custody. That's the extent of it being in the movie.

Who had a worse time, Larry Gropnik or BushOklahoma?

That was A Serious Man, though George Falconer also went through some hardships.

The King's Speech

I finally got a chance to see this film. Positively splendid if I do say so myself.

F for Fake by Orson Welles. Pure awesomeness. I think it must be the first mockumentary.

I also recently watched The Great Silence, one of the lesser known spaghetti westerns. Hilariously bad acting in part of it by a good performance by Klaus Kinski and a pretty haunting ending.
