Taken.

It's like what Jason Bourne would be like 20 years later. Tons of fun.

Taken.

Kind of boring, and Liam Neeson should stop trying to pretend to speak with an American accent. It's painful.

WTF?

Up until his daughter was kidnapped perhaps, but after that it was boring?

Boring as far as an action movie goes. It was certainly no Shoot 'Em Up or even a Bourne. And up until his daughter gets kidnapped is like a third of the movie.

Gran Torino

Great movie. One of the year's best. Some of acting was a little rough but it didn't matter. Walt certainly reminds me of my grandfather for a number of reasons. Just awesome.

4 luni, 3 săptămâni şi 2 zile

Uncomfortable viewing. Emotive and trying.

Fracture

I like Hopkins generally, but the accent buged me.
I didn't like the ending, which seemed very dubious.

Comedy Central played the film "Heart Condition" a 1990 textbook late 80s/early 90s Comedy/Drama/Action film. I rented it back about five or six years ago.

Bob Hoskins plays Police Sergeant Jack Moony, a manic career cop and Denzel Washington plays Napoleon Stone, an adorable but sleazy ambulance chasing lawyer whom Moony hates. Moony's years of bad habits, such as overeating, racism, smoking, and drinking, finally catch up with him. At the same time that Stone is gunned down in a drive-by shooting, Mooney has a heart attack, and wakes up to find out that his new heart was once Stone's, and the dead lawyer's ghost has become his constant companion. Now, Moony will have to solve Stone's murder.

Decent "H.W. Bush era" flick Wink

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

Awesome. I've basically concluded that teen movies today are good ONLY if they star Michael Cera.

I´m watching "Remember the Titans" in 10 minutes. I´ve never seen this movie, but Obama seemed to use songs from it at one point in his campaign. Is it worth watching ?

It was an okay film...I remember we had to watch it 10,000 times on the "do nothing" days in Middle School and High School classes.

It's like four and a half years ago in my Health class, where we had a sub who put in "Kindergarden Cop" and I had to pause it and explain to the class that Arnold was a cop who had to go undercover as a teacher...and not an actual teacher/cop mix.

The International.

It was great, a rare film with great action that was also clearly for intelligent and thinking adults. Unlike a certain other pile of garbage opening this weekend which based on the ticket line attracted one of the most annoying crowds I have ever seen...

Juno-Much better than I was expecting.

Hot Rod-BRUTALLY bad, but it was supposed to be.  Still, not very funny.

To Kill a Mockingbird (Peck's version)-As brilliant as it's claimed to be.  Better than I was expecting.

Netherbeast Incorporated - forgetable.  I loved the cast and theme, it just didn't deliver.

Gifted Hands:  The Ben Carson Story

I thought it was wonderful.  How much of it is actually true and how much is embellished is known only to Ben.  But if 10% of it is fact, he is one inspiring and amazing character.  And so is his mother.

Pride and Glory.

Wow, bleak. Great performances from Norton and Farrell. Really pushed the envelope in what a film is willing to show, especially the scene with Farrell and the baby. I'm shocked that remained in the cut.

Battle Royale

I watched it with some friends from work the other night. It was pretty hilarious. There is this one character in a track suit... look out for him if you watch it.

No Country for Old Men-it was good, not great.  I liked the non-Hollywood ending.

Tommy-I always forget how strange the songs are compared to the album.  The Wall strays at times, but for the most part it's pretty close to the album.  Not here.  Still great though.  I love The Who so I'm biased.  I can certainly understand non Who fans not digging this film.  Especially if you don't like 70s camp.

Un chien andalou (An Andalusian Dog)

It's a short surrealist film from 1929. Pretty damn cool. It inspired The Pixies song "Debaser".

You can actually watch it here if you want: http://vodpod.com/watch/461280-an-andalusian-dog
