I'd like to see funding increased for subjects besides Math and Science, as well.  Those who neglect history are doomed to repeat it, after all.

I'm not sure why some people are so hesitant to offer amendments. I gave this one a little bit of extra time---Senators were saying what they would like to see---but no amendments were ever offered. Tongue

I would not have accepted as friendly an amendment which has nothing to do with the aims of my bill.

Friendly?  No, I suggested the bill should be amended into a larger Education bill, one that doesn't ignore the Humanities.

I agree with that premise, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the humanities.
