I hereby declare our vote on the Education platform revision closed.

By a 6 aye, 0 nay, 0 abstain vote, we have passed this revision.

For all Union Party members who have not voted, y'all have roughly 24 more hours to vote in the Presidential nomination and National Chairman votes.

These will be the final votes of the convention.

Anyway, I left this open six hours longer than I should have.  Oh well..  Smiley

The Union Party endorses for President/Vice President

King/John Dibble

The Union Party chooses to re-elect me for the post of National Chairman (I'm quite relieved)  Smiley

All of the votes are now closed for the Union Party Convention, and I will lock the thread after this message.

After King and John Dibble speak, we can go home.

Now that we have a challenger in the SE gov race, how should we proceed with an endorsement and voting? Is this gub election the same dates as the Pres? I'm prepared with a recommendation for Governor Dubya.

This time around, the Governor's election is the same date as the Federal election, the third weekend of June, so we can have an endorsement vote anytime.

New Vote[/b]
[/size]

I am opening the vote for Southeast gubernatorial endorsement:

Southeast Governor

[/b]

These votes will last roughly 72 hours, until mid-Wednesday.

As per the rights given to our Southeast Regional Rep (that's me), I fully request we endorse Governor Dubya for reelection to the seat.

Southeast Governor
Dubya (ACA-TX)
Statesrights (I- SC)
abstain

As I read the rules, since the SE has more than one member, we are a Resional Association, and only SE CUP members may vote. But it may be that we don't technically have a "regional association" and the national membership can vote. Sam?

The SE branch of the CUPANA is a Regional Association, and therefore can conduct its own endorsements on any regional race.  Cash can start votes on those races at any time he wishes to.  It is under the five-day mark before an election, so I could have taken over the vote to be among National membership if I wanted to, but I didn't, so the long and short of it is this is a SE Regional Association endorsement to be conducted among the 4 SE Association members (me, Cash, htmldon and The PrezMex).

Since Dubya has a majority of the membership in support, he will win the endorsement anyway and this vote can be closed as soon as Cash wants to.

As a rule, any National Association votes will be opened by me, any Regional Association endorsements will be opened by the Regional Chairman, unless special circumstances apply.
