Nice to see a moderate, pro-life Dem doing well. He's got quite the life story, too.
Oh GROSS
What is wrong with a pro-life Democrat. Must all be Democrats be pro-choice? If he were pro-choice, I doubt he would be doing this well in the polls.
I don't have a problem with him being pro-life as long as it doesn't seep into how he governs.
That's the ideal stance of anybody who self-identifies as pro-life. I call it the Tim Kaine compromise-being personally pro-life but simultaneously understanding that reproductive rights are an important part of female autonomy. There is room for this type of governance in the Democratic Party and remains distinct from anti-choice pusuits like we see from the GOP.
I am not pro-choice, but I've come to recognize at this point that this is a losing issue, and that women will get their abortions regardless of what I say or do. Hence, such a compromise is a necessity.
