The Incredible Hulk

Gotta love how the army chooses to take down Edward Norton in midtown Manhattan where by far the most amount of casualties and collateral damage could occur. And then on top it, they engage him with M16s and .50 calibers. Sort of reminded me of Transformers where they randomly drive from the Hoover Damn to downtown Los Angeles where the most carnage could ensue.

Finally caught Hellboy 2. It was very good, as I expected it to be.

I saw the new X-Files movie and What Happens in Vegas on the same day.

X-Files was disappointing considering I'm such a huge fan of the show. A crime-romance which doesn't tie up the whole Mulder's sister loose end? WTF?!

What Happens in Vegas wasn't terrible. It was a formulaic romantic comedy with a few good laughs.

I saw Swing Vote with my parents, I thought it was pretty good.

Syriana.

To be honest, it was just TOO cliched. It went out of its way to make the prince standing up to US interests to be the most liberal admirable guy possible when in fact such people in Middle East are unlikely to be like that (and in this case as well, the extent of the guy's "anti-Americanism" was that he gave a contract from a US company to the Chinese when they bid higher.) Which brings to the second point, that even the CIA wouldn't go so insane about something like THAT. The whole domestic story with the oil companies was a bit more realistic, especially with the whole "let's throw a few people to the dogs and let them take the blame while everyone else gets off scot-free as a result.", though it was nowhere near as interesting.

Also even the CIA would never do what they did in that movie. They'd at least TRY to be subtle and give something that would have an iota of deniability to it.

I much preferred Traffic.

Pineapple Express.

Funny, but one of those movies you can't fully enjoy in a theater, rather you have to enjoy it at home on the couch stoned out of your mind.

Was there a big turnout for it? Were they really into it?

That is a truly great movie.  It was one of my favorites as a kid.

The most recent movie I was was I am Legend.  I think I'm gonna watch 10,000 BC today.

The Onion Movie.

It's actually not that funny. Print media doesn't always translate into video well.

The Dark Knight

Yeah, I finally got around to seeing it last weekend. I waited cause I thought the theaters would have been a madhouse. Even so, when I went, it started at 11 p.m. and the room was full then. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. Lots of people there really got into the movie too. Some cheered, clapped, laughed. I've never seen a film where the audience was so into the flick.

The Hours: I didn't like it as much as when I saw it the first time in 2003. I really loved it then, now.......not so much. Julianne Moore is a great actress.

Juno: It had the neo-Nazi from Oz!! It was cute and okay. My favorite line was when Juno says she's going to St. Cloud (Minnesota) and Allison Janney says "Why are you going to East Jesus Nowhere?"

THE DARK KNIGHT once again. It really is a film that still holds your attention on repeat viewings and improves. There's a reason why it's so successful.

Also, has anyone noticed that there's a little bit of Tricky Dick Nixon in the delivery of some of Heath's dialogue?

Pineapple Express

Another winner from Apatow and Co., but I wish Amber Heard had been given more screen time

My girlfriend and I are going on a double date this Friday to see Fly Me to the Moon.  Its just a simple animated G-rated movie (something my generation won't even touch), only 95 minutes long, but we're looking forward to it.  Its in Dolby-Digital 3D.
