I might create some maps based not on the usual districts, but rather on the NUTS-3 regions:
The red areas (urban/suburban) vs. the remaining (rural) ones.
There are 7 major urban areas in the country (ranked by population, out of 8.901 million):
2.589.000 Vienna & suburbs north+south
596.000 Linz-Wels & suburbs
447.000 Graz & suburbs
369.000 Salzburg & suburbs
312.000 Innsbruck & suburbs
305.000 Rhein Valley
289.000 Klagenfurt-Villach & suburbs4.907.000 Total (55% of the total population)
Everyone knows that the urban and suburban areas voted much more for VdB in 2016 than the rural areas, but I'm interested in the exact margins in each urban area vs. the rural remaining areas and how the urban areas combined voted vs. the combined rural area.
