Hi! Welcome to the office of the Idaho Union! This is our temporary name, and an official name will be voted on soon. This is the merger of the Light and Civic Union, and Liberals are welcome to join, as well as any other Atlasian. We will be made up of four distinct wings, Social Democrats, Moderate Liberals, Libertarians, and Populist. We will have a five member party council, for the Chairman and each of the division representatives. Long live Idaho Union and the multi-party system!

Section 1: Structure
The Idaho Union will be composed of four wings: Social Democrats, Moderate Liberals, Liberarians, and Populists. All members of the party who are registered with the Census Bureau (or its equivalent) with the Idaho Union (or, until the party is finalized, with its predecessor parties) will be able to vote in party elections as soon as they declare membership in one of the four wings.
2. The Council of the Idaho Union will consist of six members: one member elected by the members of each wing of the party, along with a chair and vice chair to represent the whole party. The Council will be elected every four months.
3. The chair and vice chair of the party must receive the support of a majority of voters from three separate wings of the party. The chair and vice chair cannot belong to the same wing.

Section 2: Conventions
1. Conventions shall be held on the first week of July, October, January, and April.
2. The Convention shall have the duty of electing a Chair, Vice Chair, and Representatives, confirm the by-laws of the party, and choosing a city for the next convention.
Section 3: Voting
1. All voting is only open to members of the Idaho Union, but nominations are open to anyone.
2. Votes shall be opened by the Chair, and last 24 hours.
3. Unless otherwise stated, votes will be counted by PR-STV.
4. Members can always write-in or vote None of the Above.
5. Voting will last 72 hours, and nomination periods will last 72 hours.
6. Votes for office endorsements  will occur between one week before the election and the end of the election. Votes will be held for every office, including Special and Recall elections. All candidates will be included in the vote.
Section 4: By-Law Modification
1. A vote on by-laws will occur at every convention. There will be a 72 hour nomination period for amendments to the by-laws. Each amendment will be voted on, followed by the amended by-laws. Should the by-laws fail, the cycle would repeat itself.

Here are our proposed by-laws.

I don't think we should make formal structures out of the different wings - it has potential to lead to divisiveness later on, not to mention that they'd have, what, three people each?

Five party officials seems excessive as well... remember neither Light nor you guys managed to find even two.

Oh, and let's stay in the other thread please. Smiley
