Because she proposed an alternative solution to addressing the issue? I really don't see the problem here - the argument that Gillibrand's legislation won't fix the problem doesn't seem on the face of it to be automatically illegitimate. What is the problem with proposing an alternative, and potentially more effective, solution?

The McCaskill bill is a half-assed, watered down version of the Gillibrand bill which in no way would be more "effective".
