ive come to the conclusion that kerry would have been a far superior president than obama.

unfortunately i didnt vote kerry in 04  but i did vote obama in 08.

the downside...johnny edwards would have been vp.

If Kerry won in '04, chances are we'd have a President Romney right now or something equally as horrible.

Kerry.  He'd be bad but he's enough of a politico that he'd probably be a weak version of Bill Clinton.

In my view, Obama is almost exactly that.

Kerry was the worst major party candidate in a long long time.  At least until the '12 GOP winner (depending on who it is obviously).  I don't know how he would have done as President (probably not much different than Obama really), but he was a very sh**tty candidate.

In my view, Obama is a weak version of Trotsky.

That's not entirely a criticism, but it's certainly not a compliment.

When you say Trotsky, is this Leon Trotsky?  The Leon Trotsky?  Or is this your neighbor Bob Trotsky?

Thanks for confirming that I don't need to pay attention to you. It soemtimes can be hard to distinguish between the ordinary boring, yet normally intelligent Internet Libertarian, and the crazy Internet Libertarian who bases his ideas of this really deep blog he reads by this really clever guy.

He has an unproductive fetish towards labor/government commingling and integration, and a loathsome view towards powerful groups.  I'm not saying he's trying to impose a communist/Soviet state -- there's no path to success for that -- but I'm having a hard time seeing where he'd stop if he had the unfettered latitude to push it.

I actually find it rather endearing and earnest, but for the social upheaval and economic destruction it would cause.

At the end of the day, though, he's a cynical pragmatist, and so pits power against power.

Hey, at least I didn't say he was a weak Mao or Stalin, because he's not.

Nice ad hominem, though.
