He's just lying.  He's been lying for 8 years and telling people whatever they want to hear.  He hasn't all of a sudden become establishment.  He has no ideology.

If Trump wins, what do you think is more likely to happen in 2025, millions of deportations or a green card on every undocumented diploma? If he has no ideology why are you so sure he'll be a border hawk?

Going soft on the border or openly turning on Israel are the only two issues that I think could truly hurt Trump with his base, albeit each would take out a very different segment.

I'm an Obama style moderate on borders. And I care about universal healthcare and other domestic matters more. If Democrats go full on Gottheimer maybe I'll turn into a swing voter, but I doubt that happens. There's more to life than immigration.
