This is the language of abusers. "Look what you made me do" is almost textbook.

The problem is, they believe that they're saving democracy from " the globalists, and the liberals, and the socialists ". The Republicans fear changing social norms. Changing Cultural Values.

Not that I agree with them but they literally believe that by " taking America back ", that they're restoring what they believe America is.

This is not a normal Conservative Party in the vein of Eisenhower, Rockefeller, Adenauer. This is a reactionary party. They look at the new Deal, Great Society, as perversions of American values. They want to return America back to before 1932. That's the whole reason why the conservative ideology developed as we know it today. It all comes back to the New Deal, and what the new deal embodied.
