Anecdotally, I've seen surprisingly few cops advocate this position, possibly because they know what having to immediately respond to an overdose death actually entails and how unpleasant and depressing it is.

What more is to learn? Alito is a Republican hack who was butthurt because Trump lost and decided to make his displeasure public by using these MAGA-related flags.

The reason why I'm not sure it matters that much is that any way you slice it this is a petty suburban neighborhood war--in Northern Virginia, possibly the only part of the entire country where issue salience is about the same on Twitter and in real life--in which either a Supreme Court justice or a member of that justice's immediate family is acting like a lib-owning MAGA blowhard, because nothing is more important in this world than pissing off the neighbors. Moreover, the MAGA blowhardism is thoroughly consistent with that justice's already-existing track record of right-wing hack jurisprudence. The details of just how much of a wingnut Samuel Alito himself is, given that it could be his wife who's the bigger problem, strike me as much less important. Clarence Thomas's wife is a much more vocal antidemocratic extremist than he is as well, and that's widely acknowledged to be concerning outside the hard right.

Another thing that came to mind, is how some drug/opioid addicts, hate Narcan because it destroys their high. I have seen video where the addict, literally being saved, gets upset (physically lashes out) at the person that gave them Narcan, because it instantly destroys (takes-away) their high.
Just more evidence of what addiction will do to everyday, common sense (reasonableness) in "life."
