few important things to remember for whatever happens

-don’t set your expectations too high either way: there’s a multitude of ways this could go.

-this likely won’t move polling by more than a couple points either way

-any dooming/blooming will be moved on from by next week; by this time next week we’ll all be talking about something else

-there are still many events that will decide this race: this debate won’t set the election in stone

-most of all, enjoy yourself and have fun tonight , debates are always fun to watch and are probably one of the most exciting parts of any cycle!

Fwiw online moderating is next to worthless and is always infected with the political bias. For example many of the moderators here being left-wing to center-left Democrats with very little representation of conservatives or other Trump supporters.


On another note, I wouldn’t expect a victory for Biden, historically challengers have won the first debate see Mondale and Romney while the incumbent has done better in the other debates.

What I'm getting at is that a debate without any major gaffes should pretty much put to rest any worries about Biden's mental acuity, whereas a bad stumble would be very damaging.

I almost don’t even wanna watch tbh. Does it even matter? Does anything matter anymore? If 34 felonies related to cheating on your pregnant wife with a porn star might have only helped you if anything, not sure why anyone thinks Trump couldn’t literally take a s—t on stage and still improve in the polls.

I’m watching the NBC stream of it, and they just interviewed a few PA black voters as part of a focus group. Two of the three voted for Biden in 2020 and are now undecided. Biden’s got his work cut out for him.

Polling moved a couple points in Biden’s favour. Split ticket did a graph on it, was even enough to flip some key states.
