Brazil by default, Brazil will likely just stay a middle income democracy, which put it ahead of the other. Russia is in decline and it’s unlikely to turn it around. China may get lucky and get rid of CCP, but most likely even if they get rid of them those who will replace them will be just as bad. India loves its dysfunctionality and poverty, the lack of interest on getting the masses out of poverty will keep it the poor man’s version of Brazil. If Russia is declining South Africa is rotting from the inside. Egypt will dance on the edge of collapse forever without ever falling down. Ethiopia is likely the country which will improve the most, but that’s from a very low level, at best it will turn into Africa’s mini-China. While the Iranian regime will one day fall, a lot of problems created by it will stay around. UAE has only one way to go and it’s down,

In terms of the median person, I would say Brazil for sure . In national terms I would say India for 3 major reasons:

1. The Indian Government was unable to implement a policy similar to the disastrous one child policy. While Indira Gandhi tried to do it, she failed and part of the reason she was thrown out in 1977 was because her sterilization policy was super unpopular

2. China has backslid to Communism under Xi. The fact is Communism simply does not work as we saw with the USSR, China before Deng and really what hampered India before 1991 was the socialistic license raj policy . On the other hand India under Modi has still continued to make free market reforms which at the end of the day is whats needed

3. It's huge just like China which makes it easier to project power

At the end of the day though I am confident that no BRICS Nation will become number 1 because at the end what made the US a super power was not the government but the entrepreneurial spirit and that spirit is still alive despite what all the naysers say.
